Sciences Po Columbia Dual BA 2016 Entry

the thread this year is so quiet : )

Hi everybody, I’m international student from China, and I applied to the Reims campus. I studied French throughout high school, and I’ve got a 5 on AP French. This program is my first choice since I like France a lot and got rejected from Stanford REA:( So has any of you received interview invitation?

I still haven’t heard anything about interviews, and I’m quite nervous!

I’m an American student who applied to the Le Havre campus. I want to study economics and political science, but I might change my mind. I study French and Chinese, and I travelled to China and France (lived with a host family in France for four weeks while studying the language), and both of these experiences motivated me to pursue an experience that was more than just a traditional study-abroad program. I also applied to the dual degree program with UBC but to the Reims campus (I was torn between the two). I’m especially nervous about that one, because I hear the interview is very intense for UBC - Sciences Po.

I really love this program, and it’s one of my top choices. I also got accepted to Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service, so it will be difficult to decide between the two if I get accepted to the dual BA between Columbia and Sciences Po! But if not, I have an amazing school to fall back on

Hi everyone! I’m an American applying to the Reims campus. I studied in France my entire junior year of High School and I really want to go back! This program is my first choice. Has anyone gotten an email about an interview yet?

International from Hong Kong here, I applied to the Reims campus. Still haven’t received any updates on the interview…

Did anyone apply to the Sciences Po-UC Berkeley program? My D applied to both the Berkeley and the Columbia -Sciences Po programs. She had Berkeley 's interview was last week, but she is still waiting to hear from the Columbia program. I suspect you’ll be receiving interview invites this week.

@tinsoup I considered applying but the lack of scholarships for internationals dissuade me to do so.

I’m thinkng interview invites might star coming out today.

anyone get something???

Not yet

If anything today, it will probably be at 6:30

Do you mean no scholarships at Berkeley (so, 58K out of pocket)? Because I believe Sciences Po has some scholarships for American students (and French students too).

Hey,

This is my top choice. I am a French dual citizen, which makes me ineligible for financial aid at Sciences Po. Columbia is expensive, and we are at the very middle of the American middle-class. Anxiety. How loose are the pursestrings? There is no way that our family can pay without about 50k worth of financial aid from GS (/year). Is this a program for rich people? Does anybody even know how much they give to Dual BA students? Like I said: anxiety. Of course, I won’t need to feel anxiety if I’m not accepted :).

^As far as I know, you’re eligible for financial aid at Sciences Po if you’re French, provided you qualify (with tuition at about 12K, income levels necessary to get aid are different from the US). The issue is UCBerkeley (58K/year).

My D applied to the program because she likes Berkeley but also because of financial aid opportunities. Columbia GS to my knowledge doesn’t have the same endowment that Columbia College has, this limits available funds. Last years acceptance thread for SP-Columbia saw several accepted applicants sadly having to decline because of poor financial aid offerings. I have encouraged my D to start applying to outside private scholarships now or she might find herself having to turn down her dream programs as well.

Hey Guys!
I also applied for this program, and I am an international student. This is definitely one of my first choices. I love France and I love NY!
Do you know if the interviews are selective, or whether they simply interview everyone who applies?
Thanks! I look forward to their email

I was contacted for the interview!! Has anyone else heard back? I received the email in the Promotions tab in gmail. Again, do you know if they interview every applicant or if it is selective?

My D’s interview is scheduled for Feb 23! She is so excited! Email sent at 4:01pm today.

My D went to an information session when representatives from both programs were in town and they told her it was selective.

Thank you for the information!
