My son was waiting for an EA decision which was expected by Jan 31. An inquiry a week earlier after early release rumors were floating brought the same response, “By January 31”. Two hours later, decisions were released. The week before January 31.
So for Cornell, you will hear by April 1. You may hear earlier, but probably only a day or two and probably without much advance notice. No point in asking.
Hey guys! I’m a current 1st year in the program at the Le Havre campus, and best of luck to all of you for decisions! Feel free to ask me any questions, and PM me if you get in, which I hope you do, cause ya’ll seem awesome Also, don’t stress too much about it, last year we got our decisions approx. 6pm EDT on the 25th of March, but they could be any time. All the first years are really looking forwards to welcoming you to the program!
@n1ghtsh4d3 thanks! That makes me feel slightly better I have thousands of questions, but most have to do with trying to second-guess the committee’s decision, so I’ll try to hold off on those Just out of curiosity, what does the portal say when you open it? “dear xxx, congratulations…”?
Lol I don’t exactly remember but everyone gets an identical very scary looking email when the decisions are ready to view, so ignore that, it has no effect on your decision. Aaaand meanwhile, I’ve found my old letters, and they either start “On behalf of the Dual BA Program Committee on Admissions, we want to congratulate you on your admission…” or “Felicitations!”
The wait is agonizing. I’ve only heard from 3 schools so far: 1 acceptance, 1 waitlist, 1 rejection. Really don’t know what to expect for the Dual BA, especially because I think my interview was horrible. I was so nervous and I totally blew it - and it wasn’t that tough! The guy from Menton was pretty harsh but not as terrible as everyone had made it seem. But my nerves completely ruined my interview.
@bubbledrizzles don’t worry! The interview is an important part of the application but not the only one! They take into consideration many things, such as how well you’d fit into the program and they know of course how stressed you are!
I freak out with every email I get today! Not sure if I wanna check when it comes bc I’m in Europe so it’ll be around 11pm here, don’t wanna ruin my night lol
Omg i can’t believe the day is finally here! But what’s more annoying is that it’s already 11at night here in China, so i have to sleep through the night to find out the result. How could i fall asleep???
@HectoraB that’s good! For me, I need to go to sleep knowing the result is there! You can just go to sleep, and when you wake up it’ll be waiting for you!
@toune160 deal. Although I believe many people will be checking their email around 6pm EDT (or whenever they’re supposed to come out). Every time a college announces its decisions I get cardiac arrhythmia for a day. I’ve reached the conclusion that anyone able to make it through the college admissions process and effectively deal with the amount of stress that ensues has next to no health issues (half joking here )
Hope you stay alive for this one. Fortunately most of my universities don’t have specific dates for their answers, so I don’t have to stress that much. It’s only the wait thats agonizingly long.
@bubbledrizzles Glad to see someone else applied to Menton too If it makes you feel any better, I don’t think I did well at the interview either. Fingers crossed and good luck!
@vossari what other American college(s) have you applied to?
I already had a rough week with one rejection and one waitlisting. Not looking forward to some more Feeling so discouraged and unappreciated. When colleges ask about every single detail of an applicant’s most personal moments/life, it is only fair to share why he/she was rejected or waitlisted. College admission for top students in the US is based on luck. So many equally qualified applicants that all you need is luck, a great deal of luck, to be accepted into a top tier college. The most frustrating part is when factors absolutely out of your control end up being the deciding factor in your college acceptance or rejection. Sucks
Good luck to all and remember that your future doesn’t depend on which college you attend but rather on what you make out of your college experience (wherever that is). Hard to accept this now but it will all make sense few months from now
@DualDegreeSeeker Princeton, also a program with USC, HKUST, & Bocconi. Apart from that 5 in the UK & Bocconi in Italy, Oxford was a hard rejection for me and I knew the date so that was stressful too. Hoping for the best for this one! Good luck to you
