well, as a Catholic, i can give a Catholic stand. he should stop working there. it seems that your friend has become a tool for the scientology cult. he can surely find many good opportunities volunteering with a catholic organization. there are even a huge number of secular organizations that do great work. i would strongly encourage him to stay away from the scientology cult altogether. by using that book, it seems that they are using it as an opportunity to brainwash the people they are supposedly trying to help. also, i have to point out the fact that many in hollywood are scientologists and kabbalists. i would highly doubt the veracity of the religious organizations and beliefs of many of the hollywood types.

Actually, he could continue working there....it could produce a very unique application essay.

All religions are cults and all are scams. Im not a scientologiest but anybody should know that no religion can be declared the true or best religion. Therefore they are all cults until proven real, but none have been proven real.

The funniest religion to me is being Mormon. Joesph Smith and hs life cracks me up. Any body see South Park?

YESS!!! That one cracks me up.

But as long as people's brains are hardwired into believing in a higher power (which is true) there will always be religion. I don't think all are cults or all are scams but I think that many are misguided enough that I don't think any are worth following. If you need a God, do it yourself, I don't need mass to pray. I could do it myself. And also about proof, there is a reason why it is called faith. Unfortunately people take faith too far and take things literally and choose what portions they want to follow and become hypocrites. There is no reason to let stories from a book, whose true author is someone from many many years ago, rule the modern world today is ludicrious and needs to end.

This is not against any religion in particular but some are more involved in our lives through politics or various other forms than other religions.

religion is just something for people to hold onto in when they are in dire need. there might be a go, there may not be. people shouls focus on helping the poor if they want to do something good, rather then rot away in church. i mean there are so many religions, and all religions claim (maybe not explicity) that theres is the best, hence missions and what not, who knows which are legite. no one. therfore church/religion is a waste of time.
