The first time I took the SAT, I got a 2260–800R/680M/780W. I took it again for the math, and got a 2060–710R/680M/670W. I didn’t have time to study the second time (I have a heavier course load now), and I honestly didn’t put much effort into the reading and writing sections. Now I’m scared that colleges will see this and think that the first time was a fluke–should I take it again when I have a bit more time to study and hope to get higher scores (and get a higher math score), or should I just leave it as it is?
Also, what will colleges think of such a drop??
Thanks!
If you have the time to take it again (and also time to study and prepare more) you should definitely do it.
Agree with the post above. Take the SAT test again.
just send the first scores or take it again and only study math questions because it is unlikely your super scores will go up in the other two subjects. A 2260 is an excellent score.
Agree with the above poster. Also, you can use your PSAT scores to show it was not a fluke, if you have them.
See if the schools you are interested in allow score choice or if they require all scores. I know some schools require that you send scores from all test dates. If you can use score choice, only take it again if you have time to prepare and think you can improve your math score. If you can’t use score choice, definitely take it again.
