I previously sent my SAT/ACT scores in October for the two school to which I was applying that do not do common application. However, I am applying to seven schools on the common app and just sent my scores rush delivery on December 28th. Five of these schools have score deadlines of either January 1st of January 2nd. Were my scores sent too late for consideration and does the deadline indicate when they have to receive them or when they need to be processed by? Please help.
No they’r not too late. Indeed, most schools will accept the January sitting of the SAT or ACT. Probably yours too. What does THAT tell you?
This is despite their advertising a score deadline of January 1st?
The acceptance of January scores will depend upon the school. But for the sake of argument, let’s assume that your school does not accept January scores. Sending scores on 12/28 is fine. If they arrive 1/2 or 1/3, nobody will care. Almost every college gives a grace period of a couple of days for items not under the applicants control.
Plus you know what else? 1/1 is a Sunday (and a holiday). Trust me, nobody is working in any college admissions office looking for missing scores on 1/1. You’re fine.
Thanks so much
