Scoring 620s on Barron's Math 2 practice tests...should I be worried?

I plan to take the Math SAT 2 subject test on January 25th. I made an A in pre-calc without breaking a sweat (never got below a 90 on a test) and am making an A in calculus AB right now (all As on tests). When I took the Barron's diagnostic test for Math 2 a week ago, I got a 620. No worries, I thought, it's been months since I've seen this stuff and Barron's is much harder than the real thing. I spent a week going over the book's review material (with help from Khan Academy) and then took a practice test. Yeah, I got the exact same score: 620. I omitted 18 questions, in fact. I know that Barron's is much harder than the real test, and I'm not aiming for an 800 on the actual test (hoping to crack 700 to 720) but this still seems shockingly low. Should I even take the Math 2 test at this rate? Am I worrying too much? Are there better practice tests out there (I hear the Princeton Review book has good ones)?
I also got the feeling that some of the material covered in the Barron's book isn't even on the Math 2, such as greatest integer functions and some of that weird probability stuff.
I'm taking subject tests for Davidson college, which recommends two, one of them in math. I will also be taking the literature and US history subject tests. I got a 760 on the College Board's practice literature test and a 730 on Barron's diagnostic US History test, so I'm not too worried about those: it's the math that's going to kill me.

Barrons is harder than the real stuff, but I would be slightly worrying if you’re omitting 15+ questions. If you want an accurate indicator, just pull some out of the CB practice subject tests. I was scoring mid 700s for Barrons, but I got 800 on the actual test (2 omits).

^Yeah, I agree. Barron’s is noticeably harder than the real thing.

should I be worried?

Yeah, even for Barron’s you should be worried. 620 is kinda low for Barrons. Its tough, I agree but its not THAT tough that you score low 600s. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE.

You should relax when you score atleast a 680-700.

Well, if anyone ever looks at this thread in the future, I ended up scoring an 800 no sweat on the real thing.

Yeah. I got 620’s as well and I got a 780.

@Asterixes, thanks so much for the update. It is very encouraging! My son is very much like you, good in math, but he freaked out this afternoon when he scored 640 on Barron’s this afternoon. Test is in two weeks, I told him not to give up! BTW, did you get any higher on other Barron’s practice exams?

Hey realchk! Even i got around 620 on my diagnostic test in barrons! But after reviewing throgh the material i bumped it up to 750 on the practice tests. I ended up getting 800! There isnt a reason to be worried.
Just practice!

I’m getting around 750 on the Barron’s. Not too worried, I’m pretty much acing the CollegeBoard material. There’s a very big discrepancy.

I got like 550 on my diagnostic test. Didn’t do half of the stuff at school yet. Now it’s been a couple of weeks later and I’m at 620 more or less. Got 3 more practice tests to go…this thread just gave me quite some hope to be honest. If I manage to bump my practice test scores up to 650-670 I’m fairly confident of getting a 750 on the real thing. Anyways, I’m going back to practice.
