8parks11, no need to be a dick. i'm sure you're smart and all since you go to troy and clearly do well, but you're making wrong insinuations. one of my friends is just as smart as i am, yet cant crack 1800 on the sat. its just harder for different types of brains and things - it is, in essence, as he put it, BULLSHIET. regardless, dont get a raging boner over how great you think your school is.

i tested into troy when i was in 8th grade no problem - i didnt go cause it was too far away. i know kids who go there who are hardworking but could barely qualify as smart. i also know kids who go there who get below 1800 on the sat. i know kids who went to my school, then went there, and ended up doing better in their classes. my school's sat average is 1540, and i'm sure troy's is much higher. regardless, dont sell that other guy short, or anyone else for that matter! remember, my school is a ****ty public school that's chock-full of failing minorities (or majorities, since thats what they are now), and i will have taken 14 AP classes by the end of this year (4s and 5s on all except spanish, and mostly 5s) and have an unweighted 4.0. its not that big a deal. some kids are better than others at certain aspects of academia, and vice versa. thats just how it is.

it's okay. you're kind of like me, but smarter. hahah. i got a 1770 on the SAT and i have a 3.8 gpa. i'm not at a top-notch school like you are. but we used to be on newsweek's top list..

it's just not in me to do well on standardized tests.. idk.
we're in the same boat

Chone is right...some people are just smart on the SATs...how good the school doesn't mean a thing...

8parkes your probably just one of those naturally smart student who happen to go to some so-called magnet school in some poor city...I also happen to know that smart people like you don't have any social skills in life too...maybe the reason for all of your stupid, senseless ranting. And who gives a damn how many APs your taking? Colleges look at reputation, and lets just say that my school has a better one than most of the schools in California...

bsn, why did you end up at South? Do you live in the PV district? I have a friend who lives on the hill but goes to South...

Kinda felt bad for you but you're kinda of a snob, so GL with your low score and CC/JC. :D

Oh noes poor people? Yuck, don't touch.

And you happen to know that do yah? Too bad you don't know how to do well on the SATS...

BTW, US news rankings doesn't mean a damn thing because how they rate it is how many students are in AP classes, regardless of how well they do in those AP classes. The school about 10 miles away from me was at the top of that list (pasadena something soemthing) and the only reason is that ALL their classes are AP classes.

And wouldn't going to a good school be worse, becuase if you went to South Central high with those grades you could get in to any school you want.

What's your point. I didn't want to mention my school but anyways I did but I feel like it was unnecessary. I just asked what school your enrolled in, because I've never seen a ~=4.0 get below 2200 (although receiving a 4.0 in my school is impossible) so I just mentioned that your school must be easy. Thats it. So tell your administrators to hire better teachers not to prepare you for the SAT but to improve your knowledge in general, because with basic common sense and no preparation, its still pretty easy.

Okay, so that makes absolutely no sense. I have a 3.9/4.0 (not sure but w/e) (97.6 unweighted), I'm 4th in my class, taking 11 APs by graduation, and the first time I took the SAT I got a 1940. I do think I got around 2100 this time, but still, your quote is completely incorrect.

Why don't you try the ACT? THe reading is faster-paced but much easier, while the math is slightly harder. I think you could get 27-32 on the ACT pretty easily.

hey do u know Vikram Dhawan hes a sophmore in your school. He's my cousin.

But anyways take the ACT I was getting 1700-1900 on the SAT and just took the ACT and got a 34. It's much easier and straight forward. No BS, and math isnt even all that hard.
