Ok, so I'm taking my first real SAT tomorrow (I'm a junior) and I know my score will suck. My GPA is 4.0 unweighted, I volunteer, take all the hard classes, and I do many extracurricular stuff that any good student take in high school. Basically, I'm one of those kids in high school who tries hard and does well to get into a good college.

Problem is, I really suck at the SAT. Like, I SUCK...I studied all summer, taking a course with The Princeton Reivew. My best score on a practice SAT is 1760. Yea... I suck bad and I'm entirely frustrated. I know that GPA and others is worth much more than SAT score but still...1760 is way too low. I do well on the math but the CR is like ! I love to read (I read the newspaper everyday) but the CR of the SAT is just . It's obviously Collegeboard are full of smart asses who expect everyone to be smart to take the SAT. Their correct answers are just a load of ***.

Sorry for all the rant but I'm just FRUSTRATED. I'm just about to say SCREW IT ALL and just accept the facking 1760 score. I feel like I don't feel like I don't really give a damn anymore...I'm completely disheveled...I'm just about to say **** Collegeboard and **** their stupid, senseless SAT. It's full of problems with BULLSHIET answers.

Sorry for the bad language but seriously SCREW IT ALL.

Use the Blue Book next time.

your school must suck.. no offense but 4.0 unweighted (valedictorian, I assume) having a 1760 is pretty terrible.. SAT is easier.. I'm taking 6 AP classes and took 11 total and find SAT easy..

It came with the Princeton Review course package...
I know all the strageties that Princeton Review taught me...they don't even help , and the SAT is full of BS.

I go to one of the top high schools with one of the highest AP scores in the country...
Oh, and it's in NEWSWEEK's top ranked high schools in the U.S. list...

what school is this?

Palos Verdes Peninsula High School
And why do you care? It's probably a hundred times better than your school...

i actually know that Pete Sampras went to that school >_<
and I actually highly doubt that

Look up Troy High School in Fullerton ;)

I sense a little frustratioooon

No really?
And top-ranked USC football coach Pete Caroll's son graduated from there last year.

What's your point. I didn't want to mention my school but anyways I did but I feel like it was unnecessary. I just asked what school your enrolled in, because I've never seen a ~=4.0 get below 2200 (although receiving a 4.0 in my school is impossible) so I just mentioned that your school must be easy. Thats it. So tell your administrators to hire better teachers not to prepare you for the SAT but to improve your knowledge in general, because with basic common sense and no preparation, its still pretty easy.

Just relax man, going into the test tomorrow with that attitude is tantamount to utter failure :o

calm down, everybody! these are crazy times and the college admissions process has created all of this! but ablegreen, just apply and accept the fact that your school performance does not line up with your standardized tests for whatever reason. that will hurt you with some schools and not with others. for quite a few years to come, getting into one's top choice will not be a given ( except for strong legacy schools, etc.) take it easy!

What are you guys talking abou? My school's listed average is like 2200 or something. It's not the teachers, it's me.

Maybe I'm just stupid.

I took princeton review and scored in the 1500s on practice tests, but my actually test was 300 more points that that. The PR tests are much harder than the real thing trust me.

Jto is right...same for my kids!

pr's tests are easier........2200-2280------>2150

school performance does not equal to how high your SAT scores are.
PVPHS is a pretty good school, it's not easy at all. trust me. LOL

Damn right above...
bsn how do you know PVPHS?
Took the SAT today.
Was OK.

i was gonna go there, but for some reason i ended up in south torrance.
it's chill but pretty crappy.
