Screw the Ivy League, Its All about the KUDZU LEAGUE

OK, so in the North they have Ivy, and in the South we have Kudzu. Here is the Kudzu League (aka the Ivy League of the South):

Duke
Vanderbilt
Davidson
University of Georgia
Emory
UNC Chapel Hill
William and Mary
University of Virginia

(in no particular order)

I like the term "Magnolia League" for Southern Elites. Wake Forest and Washington and Lee are arguably stronger than a few of those schools and should be included.

Alright, I was going for eight, but we need to one-up them Yankees anyhow! So the NEW AND IMPROVED (yes, 10) Kudzu / Magnolia League:

Duke
Vanderbilt
Davidson
University of Georgia
Emory
UNC Chapel Hill
William and Mary
University of Virginia
Wake Forest
Washington and Lee

It's interesting that you included UGA and not Georgia Tech.

Yeah, I suppose it is. But it's also interesting that the Ivy League didn't include MIT...I guess Tech can be our League's MIT, lol. :)

I like this idea. :) Even though I think Magnolia League is a nicer name since kudzu is like, destroying Southern vegetation. (I think it's pretty cool-looking, though.)

If you were going to keep it at 8, I think it should be:

Duke
William & Mary
University of Virginia
University of Georgia
Vanderbilt
Emory
Wake Forest
UNC Chapel Hill

Magnolia League. Haha, I really like the sound of that.

Make Rice replace UGA

I don't know if I count Rice as part of the South...more like the southwest. What if we had a Cactus League? Haha, it would be like Rice, UT Austin, UCLA, USC, Caltech...

Texas is definitely part of the South.

Davidson
Washington and Lee
Duke
WashU
Rice
Vandy
Emory
UVA
William and Mary
UNC-CH
Wake Forest

Let's just say Texas is a land unto itself. That's how most people here view it.

As for the name of the league, since both ivy and kudzu are parasitic vines, I prefer "Kudzu League" for consistency.

WashU? St Louis counts as part of the South?

St. Louis is technically midwest but I definitely think about it as being in the South.

Shouldn't they all be research universities and private:

Emory
Vanderbilt
Duke
Wake Forest
WUSTL
Rice
Miami

What about UF? IT's better than most of the publics that have been listed so far...

Dwincho--wasn't Penn originally public?

UGA shouldn't be on the list, UM or UF should overtake its spot.

i believe tulane should be on that list

Oh, we're gonna fight FSU-UF!

UGA is undeniably considerably better than UF.

You wanna take this outside?!?! :)
