Scripps College - Early Decision I

Hi,
I just applied to Scripps College for Early Decision I for the fall of 2014.
Any one else out there also applied or is planning on applying for early decision I?

I’m probably going to apply early decision I. Good luck!

Thanks, good luck to you too.

Does anyone know what amounts of merit the Scripps and New Generation scholars provide? Does the College offer merit amounting to tuition?

By calling Scripps FA today, I confirmed what HaleyAlex10 had posted on another thread: starting this year, all applicants will be considered for merit aid, not just the EDs. And, yes, I should have asked FA when I spoke to them the question I just asked you.

Anyone know the answer to my question? Good luck to everyone applying EDI.

Not sure about the exact amount but on the Scripps College website it says that merit scholarships range from $10,000 to $20,000. Going to Scripps College full time and living on campus cost around $60,000. So if you do receive a merit scholarship it will take about 1/6 to 1/3 of the tuition off and hopefully the rest can be met with grants and other scholarships.

thank you, mdelariv, and I apologize to all of you for asking a merit question on this thread.

hi, do any of you know the exact date for when ED applicants will be notified? Thanks!

decisions are getting so close…I’m so nervous! good luck to everyone who applied

I was just accepted to Scripps as a Quest Scholar! I’m so excited. When does everyone else hear back?

Congratulations. I applied RD but, this is my first choice school. Will have a longer wait :-)

I think anything between December 16th and December 20th is fair game for ED folks to hear back. Has anyone called them to see what they’re projecting?

I heard that sometimes they notify the Friday before so the 13th. Have they ever done that before?

Omg! I tots applied to Scripps ED1 too! I’m anxious to get my letter, but I’m pretty sure I got in based on my academics. The thing is, I’m not so worried about getting, I’m more concerned about “Did I get enough money to even go?” Cuz I know we have to tell them “yes” or “no” by freakin Jan. 15 and that’s got me scared s***less! x(

I already applied to Willamette U Early Action, got accepted, and receive merit aid(23,000/ year) without seeing the total financial aid package. ( i have to wait till my parents get their new tax forms in '14 to fill out fafsa) I did this so I’d be able to compare aid packages, but I’m won’t really be able to now. :(

@takingtime Congrats! You don’t have to worry about anything anymore in terms of scholarships and basically everything that makes college apps so stressful in the first place! I hope I’ll be in your same place when I get my letter! :D

My counselor called them and they said emails are going out this Friday. Brace yourselves!

do you know what time they’ll be released? if its 5 pst, that means 8 est… or will they do 5 pm (which is what most schools do) for the different time zones? (i live on the east coast!)

@abbyb16 I was notified around 2pm pst. I’m not sure if it’s different for QuestBridge though.

@aliyakeys Thanks! It’s so true, but the QuestBridge stuff was a crazy grind especially with all the school stuff going on. I’m so glad I can just relax and focus on learning for the rest of the school year :3 I wish the best of luck! Let us know how it goes :)

@theradiostar NO!!! I’m not ready to find out yet if I got in or not. I was so excited but now that it’s only two days away…eeek!
