I got into both Scripps and UC Berkeley and am having trouble deciding which school I should go to. I want to be a pre-med major with a focus in neuroscience/psych since I want to be a psychiatrist. I know Cal is great, but I hear the pre-med program is hard as hell and really cut throat. As for college, I'm also kind of introverted and nerdy, so my main concern is making friends, and I don't know if I'd be able to do that easily at a school as big as Cal. However, I do really like the school and it has a great reputation.... As for Scripps, I like the school and its consortium within the 5 Cs, but I don't know how well prepared I will be when it comes time to med school apps and if I'll get in coming from a smaller school like Scripps. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I have the same dilemma. What did you finally end up choosing?

Wow, those are really different schools. Have you visited both? Did you have a preference based on that visit? An is cost a factor?

If you don’t feel a real preference for one school/campus over the other, I’d recommend Cal. You will have more options there, and it seems to me there will be plenty of other introverted and nerdy kids there for you to make friends with!
