Asked an admissions officer during a virtual campus tour Q&A and he said that they still have 1000+ applications to review and they will most likely finish by the end of this week and release decisions next week.

Hm thanks. I guess we wait! I know they had some problems with the CA and had to re-download some apps. Our D’s app originally showed downloaded before 11/1 and then that date changed to 11/6 at some point. On another group chat, someone said they “lost” some apps and had to start over.

Hoping for a decision tonight!! I have 2 boys at scu now that absolutely love it. Love the classes, professors and the social life. Really great experience and now my 3rd son applied ED. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. With the past few years decisions out on the 11th and 12th…I’m assuming we will hear tonight. (Unless delay due to covid) Good luck to all…it really is a special place!!

Whatever the reason was, it’s disheartening and just flat out wrong to hear about your daughter being bullied. When we send our young adults to school, they are still our “kids” and we only want them to be in a place that encourages, provides opportunity and is SAFE. Sincerely wish your family the best in getting through this.

Has anyone else received an email from Santa Clara about the decisions because I haven’t received any email yet.

As in talking about when or how long until decision will be announced.

They haven’t given us the exact date. Maybe today or next week.

Yes, there are few posts here about receiving an email that essentially says SCU is still reviewing apps. See Post #86 from @homerdog.

Oh that must have happened with my DD too. She applied 10/19 and then I remember there was a short window where it changed to saying they were missing items that they had already received and there was a note saying that they weren’t really missing anything - it was just a problem with the Common App. Now instead of saying received 10/19 - it says received 11/5 for the application and 11/6 for the writing supplement.

Hello all!
Just some observations about guessing when results will be sent that I learned when my first child was applying to college a few years ago.

  1. acceptances often come with some sort of physical mail
  2. sign up for USPS “Informed Delivery” and it gives you a day or so advanced notice of things coming
  3. this year with the pandemic and especially in CA where there is a stay at home order in place, colleges may use services to stuff envelopes instead of having staff do it. Probably services not in CA.

Food for thought for those wringing hands right now
Good luck everyone!

On mine, the regular mail is shown but if you scroll down it shows tracking numbers for packages.

same as @evergreen5. Also, thinking we will get portal updates before physical mail! I guess the update could come today but I’m now thinking that’s more likely early next week.

@collegehopes19 I can see packages coming today as well but, like @evergreen5 said, large envelopes don’t count. Are there any schools out there that only send paper decisions? That would be rough!

Well, it worked for us previously for large envelopes for admission. Use it if it works, ignore if not.

Mine shows packages to be delivered on Monday.

Just trying to help relieve some stress, not create it. I have no horse in this race

where you saw the packages information, did scu sended a email about it today?

no. The poster is just saying that you can sign up for emails that show what’s coming in the mail. SCU has not sent an email with a date yet.

We signed up for Informed Delivery for D18, and we signed up solely for USC, since at least at the time, USC sent out fancy packages for their acceptances, in different colors prior to any portal updates or emails.

can you put the link of where to sign up for emails, cuz I can’t find it.

it’s a link from the US Postal Service. Go to their website.
