@djuarez986 he said on here that they emailed him on 3/21 that they would review his appeal. I am also waiting and I got emailed on 3/29 that they would review my appeal.
@bird04 I applied under Buisness Administartion Marketing. My state school GPA is a 3.48. My appeal was a long story but it’s how I was properly medicated after being diagnosed with different learning disabilities. I sent my appeal the second week in march and they emailed my on March 21 saying they got it.
Has any one heard back? I know its still way too early, but im def getting anxious…
Hi everyone, has anyone else heard back that has appealed? I sent in my letter well over a month ago, and they’ve never sent me an email saying they got it. Just wanted to know if anyone has gotten an answer yet.
I have not heard back on a decision yet but I went into the admissions office to find out if they received my appeal and they told me that they had it and it was still getting processed.
So I called admissions today, and they told me that they haven’t started to look through any appeal letters yet because they don’t do it until after May 1st. But they said that throughout the next few weeks people will start to hear back. Good luck guys.
Anyone heard anything yet?
Nope today is exactly 2 months since they’ve received my appeal and I still haven’t heard back.
Does anyone know if they take the wait list over appeals? Is there a chance I can still get in if someone with the same major is denied off the wait list?
@cvcass: An appeal could trump a waitlist spot only if the appeal shows that SDSU made a mistake in reviewing your application. What was the basis for your appeal?
My major is impacted. I have around 70 units from community college but I also have UOP on my transcript. They said I was at a lower priority because all of my credits were not from community colleges. My GPA is higher or similar to some of the people they accepted. Some of the people on the waitlist a have lower GPA or similar. One of the counselors at the prospective students center helped me with my appeal. She gave me advice and read it and even found it and read it after I turned the final draft in. Waiting to hear back is driving me nuts. I was just curious on their process. If they are going to take everyone off the waitlist first and then do appeals. I am almost 30 and I can’t just pick up with my family and leave to go to another school. Plus I’ve changed my major twice and I do not want to do it again.
@cvcass: Unfortunately all majors at SDSU are impacted and I feel your frustration. So many qualified applicants unable to get an acceptance.
So you attended a local SD CC prior to transfer? If so, I would think that you would have priority regardless of the UOP transcript. Sorry that I am not an admission officer and give some insight but all I can do is wish the best on your appeal. Crossing my fingers that everything works out for you.
I got accepted!!
Major: General Business
GPA: 3.7
Local transfer
Wish I had received this in the first place…Good luck to everyone !
Congrats! I just talked to the prospective students center. She said that no one was accepted off the waitlist for my major. I think she was actually talking about all majors. I’m not 100% sure though. She said appeals are looked at differently than waitlist and that a few people have been contacted but most will hear back in a few weeks. Someone told me that SDSU was accepting a decent amount of appeals this year, so hopefully that is good news for us:).
@Transfer0012 when did you submit your appeal package if you don’t mind me asking?
@Transfer0012 Also, what was your reason for appealing if you don’t mind letting me know?
@riyaa2017 @bird04 I was missing two GE classes a humanities and a life science with lab but besides that had everything required of a general business major. So obviously I didn’t have a ADT I found out I was denied at the end of March and sent my appeal a week later. I dedicated that whole week to researching successful appeals and making mine perfect. I addressed how they make it very clear they want something serious as in medical related or something equally as dramatic. Anyways so I talked about how a medical condition of my sister has limited my ability to take courses (slightly implying to excuse me for missing the two GEs) I also asked for a different less desirable major econ. The whole thing is very well written and “taking responsibility” sounding as I’ve seen this is the way successful appeals typically are. They still gave me general business which is great. I hope you guys get in. Good luck!
@Transfer0012 When did they email you telling you that hey had received your appeal and that they would review it?
Has anyone else heard a decision on there appeal? They received mine April 6th as an economics major and I still haven’t heard anything.
I still haven’t heard back. I got confirmation that my appeal was received in March.
