SDSU Chances of Admission?

Hey guys, I’m in my second semester of senior year and the suspense is killing me. Some people tell me not to worry and others say worry, and I dont know what to think, so I decided to ask my CC family. I have a 3.72 weighted gpa and a SAT score of 1820 (Critical Reading and Math = 1260). My total eligibility index is 4236. I live in SDSU’s service area. Do I have any chance of getting in?

Is that CSU weighted with 8 semesters capped? Your GPA is slightly low but your SAT score is fine for SDSU. I’d say you have a decent shot. Good luck!

SDSU - Match / High Match

Yessir it is. I’ve taken about 6 AP classes and have passed all tests also. My sophomore year my gpa was low, but my junior year I got a 4.5. Will they see that trend? & I hope i have a shot! Thanks for the Good Luck Wishes!

You look in good shape. What is your intended major?

Computer Science Ma’am. My secondary is Aerospace Engineering. I’m worried because I havent heard from them yet and this school is my only choice, especially since all my siblings went there.

You should hear within the next few weeks. My younger son is a CS major (freshman) at SDSU. He had a CSU GPA of 3.7 and an ACT of 31 for reference.

SDSU does a wave of early acceptances in December, but the majority of acceptances are Mid-February. Good Luck.

Thank you! Btw do you guys live in the service area?

We are not in the service area.

Wow. Thats very impressive, congrats to your son. Do you recall when he received his offer of admission?

I believe he received his acceptance Mid to Late December but the majority of his classmates received their acceptances last year around February 19th.

Wow, thank you so much. You boosted my morale. Thank You!

Last question lol. Was the 3.7 your sons weighted GPA or unweighted?

His CSU weighted (8 semesters honors points) was 3.73. Unweighted 3.45 and Fully weighted no cap 3.98. He also 10 AP classes and 5 Honor classes.

Oh same as mine lol. It sucks that they only allow you to enter 8 semesters of weighted classes.

SDSU will take into account that you have taken a rigorous schedule even though you do not get Honor points toward your CSU GPA. SDSU will also give you a large amount of college credit for AP classes. He got credit for Cal 1/2 and 3 GE classes, so after 1 semester is already at Soph status.

Thats awesome. Thank you again.
