I am also first generation and my parents did not graduate high school and earn less than $50,000. I have been in a health career academy (I am the historian) for three years and I am interning, I have had a job for two years and I have done lots of volunteer work. I am also in-state.

Include freshman grades please, SDSU looks at that. And you didn’t take a math in soph year? Lack of honors classes in your junior year might affect your chance.

What major are you intending to go in?

I need SAT scores as well. Impossible to chance you without it.

And the info that you stated, “I am also first generation and my parents did not graduate high school and earn less than $50,000. I have been in a health career academy (I am the historian) for three years and I am interning, I have had a job for two years and I have done lots of volunteer work. I am also in-state.”.

That info won’t make a difference because all CSUs won’t ask for your personal info and volunteering history.

At this rate I can only see you being accepted if you have a high SAT and or ACT score. I’m assuming that over 70,000 students will apply next fall, so you’re admissions is not guaranteed because a lot of people apply here, and SDSU is becoming stricter with admissions.

Freshman GPA: 2.88
English: B/B
Geometry: C/C
Spanish 1: A/A
CP Science: C/C

Major: Biology or Chemistry

As far as my SAT scores I have not received them yet but around what should my score be for acceptance?

The rigor of your classes are pretty weak, which is a concern, but my biggest concern is your science classes. I understand you want to major in the sciences but the science classes you took weren’t rigorous enough and you didn’t take classes like Bio 2 honors or Physics in high school which could hurt your chances. And your math grades are also a concern.

CP Science is a waste of time, you should of taken Biology 1 in freshman year, chem soph year, Physics junior year, and Bio 2 or Chem 2 in senior year, in order to be more competitive with the other applicants.

I scored a 550 in CR and 450 on math. I got 1000/1600 and 1440/2400 for my SAT. But I had a high GPA of 3.75 and I had a 3.5 CSU GPA. Plus I took rigorous science classes and I passed them with good grades, and I excelled in math.

So the only way I see you getting in to SDSU is if you get a high test score.
