SDSU CLASS OF 2019 ADMISSIONS THREAD

They must be, because my girlfriend received her admission in December.

Do you think all acceptance admissions have been sent? I heard nursing was one of the last but I saw in early post that some nursing majors have been admitted. It still says pending. Originally it had the housing link on the page but that has been removed. Does this mean denied?

update. School of nursing not sent out yet. Just called the school.

Denied for pre-biology major, congratulations to everyone who got in! And to those who didn’t, it’s not the end, it just wasn’t meant to be!

I was accepted a couple of days ago into Communications
3.6 GPA weighted 3.3 UW (not sure of my CSU GPA)
31 ACT composite, 1980 SAT
In state but not SD area
Just 2 ECs plus a job this year, 6 AP classes total
white middle-class female
I’m honestly surprised I got accepted, I thought my stats were pretty average if not below average for them.

Denied from International Business for being overqualified, feels like i got slapped in the face and complemented at the same time lol. Good luck to everyone and congrats to those who got it to this amazing school!!!

Denied Nursing with a 4950 Eligibilty Index SAT 1050 Eligibilty Index 1050 3.9 CSU GPA
The stats must be high to those getting in … :frowning:

I didn’t get in. Communications major, 3.6 unweighted GPA. High AP scores, 1650 SAT, 25 ACT.

Yes SDSU does send out snail mail. Received our acceptance for MechE back in December. (first time freshman).

Mechanical Engineering

CSU Gpa: 3.71
ACT: 31

APs: 10
Physics B, Euro Hist, Chem, Calc AB BC, stats, APEL, Comp Sci, physics C mech, e&m

Why do I keep hearing this rumor that SDSU has an acceptance rate of 10% this year? I know it’s a competitive school, but 10% seems unlikely

@sdsugirl22 its suprisingly true. This year they had over 81,000 applicants for undergrad and only 8,243 spots which is a 10% acceptance rate

@mumoffuturern‌ mine was removed too! What does it mean?

8,243 is the amount of students they plan to enroll but they will usually accept around 21,000 applicants,

@Gumbymom‌ Is there a specific source you found this information from?

I got denied I had a high GPA (3.7/3.9) and a low sat score (1020/1600). I applied for the nursing major. My friends have almost the same stats as me and they got in. A major mistake I did was I applied for nursing. Makes me sad since this was my first choice ):
Should I try appealing it?

Accepted!
CSU GPA: 3.96
Major: Pre-business Finance
SAT (M + CR): 1180
6 AP classes total
In state but not in local boundaries.

@TruffleButter: Here is the stats from last year for each major: Applications number/ Number admitted/number enrolled. Transfers are in a separate column.

http://university-stats.sdsu.edu/reports/Apps_UG/all_app_admt_enrl_major_ug_144.pdf

Roughly to get a yield of 8243 students (freshman/transfers), they need to admit 2.5 times that number. It will vary from year to year depending the # of applicants.

@Gumbymom Thank you!

@Moneyyy‌ I don’t see why you shouldn’t try to appeal! If it’s your first choice, I think you should try to see if they will reconsider (You have nothing to lose is how I see it).

If you do decide to appeal, best of luck!
