@novmoses: As long as you indicated on your Cal state application that your Senior courses such as English are in progress or planned, then you should be fine.
@Cat420: SDSU admits by eligibility index and major so CSU GPA, Test scores, HS course rigor and location/state residency are the only factors.
See common dataset: https://asir.sdsu.edu/Documents/CommonDataSets/CDS_2017-2018.pdf
Okay thank you! How do you know so much about the application process??
@Cat420: I have been through the CSU/UC application process with my 2 sons along with helping several friends and family members these past few years.
@pickledginger we got the same email and I deduced from going back and looking at the original csu application to re-enter/add my daughter’s 12th grade English course, update with her first semester grade and then choose “in progress” from the spring semester grade drop-down… it should now show 4 years of English satisfied to the system that way. How I figured it out was her csu summary app showed English as “4 year required” and only “3 years satisfied”…it’s the only csu requirement that’s 4 years so I’m guessing it’s a pretty common problem. She must have not clicked the drop down for in progress in the grade section originally. Always good to keep options open until May 1.
Thanks, @loribelle! I hope our posts might be helpful to others, too. I imagine our kids are not the only ones with these application issues.
@pickledginger my D got the same email. I also was surprised that she didn’t get in because her stats are high and I don’t think her major is too competitive. Like your son, she has gotten into other schools with merit that she prefers to SDSU. But I hope she follows up because I’m curious as to what the issue is. We’re out of town until Monday and don’t have her portal info here.

I haven’t heard anything yet, is that a bad sign?
@nm4017: The majority of decisions should be coming out in the next few weeks. Hang in there.
Is it a good idea to update your senior grades that you’ve received so far? I have a rigorous course load and have all A’s in these classes and thought it might help to show how I’m doing in my senior year
how do you update senior grades I have wanted to because I did really wellbut I don’t know how to?
CSU’s do not consider Senior grades in their admission decisions unless they specifically ask you to submit a 7th semester transcript. All CSU’s expect you do to well Senior year or they would not admit you provisionally. Do not send any additional documents unless asked.
My D got an e-mail yesterday telling her to correct her freshman English class–somehow it was not listed under her soph and junior English grades in her SDSU portal, even though she listed the 3 years correctly in the CSU app. weird. They also wanted her to enter her 7th semester English grade (an A). Shes having trouble entering that grade into the portal. She was gonna call SDSU but it was after 4 pm and office was closed. This is so weird b/c her EI is 4460 and she’s already been accepted by CPP.
I got accepted to SDSU this past friday im so stoked! I’m a current international student from Malaga, the south of Spain. Is there any other international students I can get in contact with?
@Broissin congrats!!! If you don’t mind what are your stats and major??
Also has anyone’s application status date changed?? I’m not talking about the March application date but the date that is right above “Required for admission” and under the Applicant information" section.
@kbutter1234 no mine still says October
