Have any Liberal Studies majors heard back yet?
I heard nursing is one of the last to come out, also they go strictly off your EI, what are your stats if you don’t mind me asking @socalnurse
Do you guys think 4300 EI is high enough for biology?
@thedumbsmartguy232: Based on the EI data I collected from the last 3 years, an EI of 4300 is borderline 50/50 for Biology. Hopefully it will be 50% in your favor.
@Gumbymom Do you know which one is more selective when it comes to biology? Sdsu or Csulb?
@calbound24 Yeah I have seen that as well; I was a bit worried because I saw that most of the nursing majors that got accepted last year experienced date changes on the same day. Continuing to stay optimistic about it though! My stats are: 4.18 GPA, 29 ACT, and 1290 SAT (EI’s of 1126 and 4634)
@thedumbsmartguy232: Overall SDSU tends to be more selective based on EI thresholds (GPA/SAT/ACT) but since CSULB receives more applications than SDSU, the gap maybe closing.
For 2017 Freshman admits:
CSULB average CSU GPA was 3.5, SAT 1130 and ACT 23.
SDSU average CSU GPA was 3.88, SAT 1229 and ACT 27.
Your stats are GREAT! I’m sure you’ll get in for sure @socalnurse
Just checked on my DD’s portal, it’s still Pending but the admission status date is Feb 22, 2018. I hope this is not a bad sign.
My nursing hopeful D still shows the same date of 12/1. She applied right before the application deadline.
@Banker1 Yeah same! I applied right before the deadline and my application status is december 02
Omg I’m applying as a freshmen and I’m scared because all of the business accounting majors are being denied with good stats. Wish me luck! X_X
Stats:
CSU GPA: 3.73
SAT: 1210
Major: accounting
In state but not local.
Decision: pending
Accepted: CSULA, Cal Poly Pomona, CSUF, and CSULB.
@kbutter1234 My DD has similar stats as you with slightly higher SAT 1460 applying for Business (Marketing or Entrepreneurship), but so far only got accepted from CSUF, SFSU and UCM. I’m very happy for your acceptance from those impacted CSU campuses CPP and CSULB! not sure if SDSU is your top choice but CalPoly Pomona, CSULB and CSUF are all excellent choices! We are still waiting for CPP, CalPoly SLO, SDSU and SJSU. UC‘s March announcement dates are not helping much. She is aiming for UC and north Cal or San Diego.
@jjkmom thanks for congratulating me on my acceptances so far. My top choices as of now would be in this order from the first choice being the most important: SDSU, CSULB, and CSUF. I’m getting really anxious with SDSU! :-SS
@kbutter1234 best luck to you and my DD! DD’s CSU preference is also SDSU, SLO, SFSU, SJSU. She also applied to CSULB, CSUF and CPP but they are all too close to home. But she is not anxious to find out, but I am! Really want to know where, how much, how far, nearby cities, dorm room, etc. She knows no matter where she goes, she will be enjoying her college life! I wish you the same!
Good luck everyone! I went through this process last year and am now wrapping up my freshman year at SDSU. It’s a fantastic school with great people and I hope everyone who wants to get in is able to.
I can answer any questions any of you might have as well, I’m here to help!
Any one get in for ISCOR yet?
@Jmowery:
Use the magnifying glass on the top or bottom right of this thread and type in “ISCOR” as the keyword. All posts with the key word will display and it will make it easier to find the information.
I tried it, but nothing shows. Some transfers applicants have been admitted for ISCOR but no Freshman have posted.
Do you think that admissions will be posted after the portal is supposed to come back up at 1:00 or will it be next Friday?
@Smith0701 maybe early next week
