SDSU Class of 2022 Applicant Thread

Thanks! I was hoping that having the portal go down for a scheduled hour during the middle of the day today might be a hint. Fingers crossed…

Didn’t someone say that in the past, admission decisions usually come out on this day? Have any Psychology majors heard back yet…?

It said the portal would be shut down from 12-1 but It’s still letting me in

Now it says the maintenance is 9:30am to 10:30am Sat 3/3.

Do you guys think it’s better to have a higher GPA or SAT/ACT score?

@littlebuoy215: Since SDSU admits by Eligibility index, having both high GPA and test scores is always the best situation, but if you a lower than average GPA but higher test scores or visa versa, it still comes out to the same EI.

However, having good grades over 4 year period in HS vs. a good test score taken over 4 hours can be a better measure for success.

@littlebuoy215 where did you see Data Science on the SDSU website? Are you referring to the BS in Statistics with emphasis in Statistical Computing?

There is no change in application status or application date showing in D’s portal after the latest round of maintenance this morning.

Should acceptances start coming out next week? I am a bio sci major with a 4.18 CSU GPA, 4.4 W. ACT 27. Do I have a chance to get in?

The major’s name is Statistics-Data Science

What does the “maintenance” on the portal mean? Now it says there will be maintenance tomorrow at 10:30 but it’s said that for the past 3 days and there hasn’t been changes to my portal

@Cat420 where does it say maintenance?

Hi my son is a junior at Sdsu and says the portal says it’s down for maintenance often. My daughter is a HS senior and also applying to Sdsu. It has never taken this long for decisions and this is super discouraging! She has very high stats but didn’t get accepted in December due to a community college course on app. Just like many others here, many difficulties because of this. She has since been accepted to SLO and is leaning that way due to all this Sdsu chaos. My husband and I are both SDSU alumni too so such a bummer. I feel they will lose many good people due to the admission chaos this year

S admitted in December (sorry, just found this thread)
In-State CSU GPA: 4.0 ACT: 35
business major

The one upside to the delays by the CSU’s in posting acceptances is that now they will come out close to the UC acceptance notifications which traditionally start in mid-March. Maybe some of us won’t have to put down multiple deposits/SIRs because there won’t be more than a week between the two groups.

are more decisions going to be coming out? I applied as undeclared in-state and I haven’t heard back yet

@pekkla This might be a dumb question, and somewhat unrelated to thread, but why would you put down multiple deposits? Is this more relevant to the state schools? My daughter is narrowing it down between three schools (2 accepted, 1 waiting), but we haven’t put any deposits down. All her schools are private, so they are much smaller.

@nm2017: only high stat/honors college decisions have posted. Regular decisions should be out soon

@kbutter1234: My son’s Admission Status Date is November 29, 2017. His application is still pending. I don’t think the date has changed.

@rocknix Can you tell me what your D’s major is for CPP? My son applied (Mechanical Engineering), but we haven’t heard yet. We are still waiting to hear from CPP, Cal Poly SLO, and SDSU. He was accepted to Cal State Fullerton “with distinction” on February 24th. I’m surprised that we haven’t heard from anywhere else if Fullerton considers him to be qualified for the Honors Program.
