SDSU Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

@tnursemom: I think he has a good chance at SDSU but it will depend upon how competitive the CS applicant pool is for this year since he will be evaluated against them. He has excellent HS course rigor which is a plus. I noticed he did get into CSULB so a good sign that he is competitive for SDSU.

My younger son also was accepted to CSULB and SDSU.

Best of luck to him.

Thank you! He got into Fullerton also, but hoping for a few more to chose from!

When do SDSU decisions usually roll out?

Congrats to your son for CSULB and CSUF…My daughter is also CS major and got accepted at CSUF but denied at CSULB. Now waiting for SDSU, Cal Poly and SJSU as well!

i have a 3.85 GPA (at time of applying now its 3.94) but I applied for business admin in SDSU
in-state
I took 7 AP classes but I am SAT optional
Do I have good shot? @Gumbymom

good luck to her!! CS is sooo competitive!!! i’m glad my son can stay in CA at least!

I agree! Same here, I would want her to stay instate but let’s see. Has he applied anywhere out of state and heard back?

@tnursemom congrats to your son.
Just curious if he applied to CPP? And if he didn’t apply to CPP, just curious why?

My son is also CS major. Accepted in CPP, CSUF. Waitlisted in CSULB.

He’s interested in cybersecurity, and looks like CPP has a really great cyber program (just based on their website), we’re loving it so far. So we’re leaning on choosing CPP now.

Waiting for SLO, SJSU, and SDSU. But given that he got waitlisted in CSULB, we think he won’t get in these last 3 schools, but we’ll see.

he only did NAU for OOS (was accepted immediately). this was a super safety one that would be comparable in cost since it’s in the WUE and he was offered a $6k per year scholarship on top of the discounted OOS tuition (WUE). we really had no idea where he would get accepted since no test scores this year. such a crapshoot when you just have GPA and course rigor for the state schools.

he did not apply to CPP. we just didn’t see him liking that school since my son likes the beach and he’s more of a city/suburb kid. we were pretty happy about his CSUF acceptance also, but happier with the CSULB acceptance. waiting on SJSU, SDSU and SLO now.

SDSU has already accepted some kids…usually those with high GPAs. for the rest i believe it will be early March.

When did you hear back from CPP? We are waiting on that yet, not on my daughter’s top list but might be if no other choices.

CPP released some decisions yesterday 2/9.

Yeah, We did the same for ASU as she needed confidence boost and it was super safety for her. She was accepted immediately. Also, accepted at Penn State so we have one that’s higher choice for her if none in CA work out. It’s so random this year!

Just a generic question, and of course nothing can be predicted but does getting in Cal Poly SLO mean I have a high chance of getting into SDSU CSUF, CSULB and SJSU?

for CPP, my son checked his portal last night and it showed Provisional Admission!
Didn’t get email yet.
Hope all of you also get in.

Unless there’s a miracle and he gets in SLO, SJSU, SDSU, we think he’s most likely going to CPP. So I’m just curious on any opinions from anyone if there’s any negative factors we have to consider on CPP (CS major)

yes!!! SLO is super hard to get in usually!!

I was also wondering if there is any correlation between high toefl scores and acceptances for sdsu? I believe all intl freshman ( or thats how it sounded to me when they sent me a mail) are required to take toefl, so I’m going to assume it’s pretty impt to sdsu

My D was accepted to CPP yesterday too. The one negative for us that I see with CPP vs CPSLO is that 99.7% of the freshman live on campus at CPSLO, whereas at CPP it’s only 44% of freshman living on campus according to the respective CDS’s.

SDSU will use your application CSU which puts it just below the average campus GPA of 3.97. Business Admin is a fairly competitive and popular major so you are within range but I would not say a guaranteed acceptance. Again, it all depends upon how you compare to the other Business Admin applicants. SDSU had 1552 applicants and accepted 656.

Best of luck.
