Congratulations! You’ve been accepted to SDSU after being waitlisted to CSULB? That’s hopeful for my son and I. He was also waitlisted at CSULB and awaiting a decision from SDSU. I’m surprised you were notified already as we were thinking acceptances wouldn’t be out until March. Were you notified via the Student Portal?
No I was notified back in January which was strange. I got an email notifying me of my admission. I’m awaiting ED2 for Occidental which comes out today so wish me luck! Best of luck to you and your son:))
Thank you so! Good luck!
SDSU notified some OOS students Mid-December but since they extended the CSU application deadline, other OOS students heard in January. The majority of applicants will hear in March.
Hi! First time posting! My D is OOS and was accepted in December. We just got an email stated that she received an Advantage award which is $2,500 per year. I was wondering because I haven’t fill out intent and sent in $400 and applied for scholarships if that is stackable with any other merit award she may receive or do you think that that is merit and won’t receive anything else after applying for Aztec scholarships? Thanks!
As an OOS applicant, you should not expect much more merit aid than this which is pretty generous for any CSU. The most merit I have seen at SDSU would be the few Webers Honors college scholarships which are around $10K.
Congratulations to your D.
Thank you for the information. Anxiously awaiting!
Congrats on the award. Was the email sent to her personal email address? My daughter is OOS and got accepted in Dec but never received any award so just wondering how many applicants received it
Congrats on the acceptance and the scholarship award!
Does anyone know if there’s a possible similar scholarship award for in-state, or is this for OOS only? And is this based on financial need, or just pure merit only?
Oh wait, I’m not even sure yet if my son will be accepted in SDSU
Thank you! Actually, the admissions recruitment manager for I guess the NY, NJ area called my daughter and left her a message to see if she checked her email. My daughter checked and didn’t see anything, so she emailed her back. They resent it to her personal email.
That’s exciting! They really want her! Congrats again!
Thank you. This was merit based. I’m sure they offer more to in state. Good luck!!
@mmrl8794 : In-state students have the advantage of getting good need-based aid if they qualify with Cal Grants which is not an option for OOS applicants. The best merit scholarships are the ones I mentioned before through the Webers Honors college.
