My son was admitted to SDSU in January - no merit award. We are OOS from CT. Since tuition is about $43K all-in, I assume awards will be relatively low, if any, for OOS. I guess our kids will be flying out of JFK/EWR, hopefully with less COVID concerns
Did you calculate your CSU gpa or is it listed in the portal based on their calculations?
it’s listed in the portal when you submit your a-g courses and your grades in them
Does anybody know where I can find how many applicants each major had for previous years? I found how many were enrolled per major (Enrollment by Major Data Table – Analytic Studies & Institutional Research) but wanted to see how many freshman applicants they received.
DISREGARD. I found it Applications by Major – Analytic Studies & Institutional Research
anyone thinking we may hear something today or tomorrow?
Why today or tomorrow?
it’s been end of February in some past years
I did see that as well and made note, possibly last week of February. I did notice though in my daughters portal, it does states decisions in March. Does your portal state that?
yes, just wondering if that’s something they put on everyone’s portal to keep us from bugging the admissions office
Since Cal Poly’s decisions have started releasing this week, maybe there is a chance for early notices?
didn’t sdsu’s early batch roll out in december tho? or are you thinking of a second wave of earlier decisions
Yes that is true. CP just started rolling out all their decisions this week in batches. So far predominantly acceptances so far. This is much earlier that last year so wonder if SDSU possibly will do the same.
Accepted in mid-December, applied to Weber Honors College (lady told me I had a good chance of getting in since I was admitted early, don’t know how much tho)
Major: linguistics, in-state
Class rank: 37/731
8 APs (4 right now), got 4+ on all of them, no honors classes or test scores
UC/CSU GPA: 3.88/4.21
Applied to UC Davis, UCSD (Roosevelt, top choice), UCR, NAU (accepted), and CSUN (accepted)
Freshman grades not good, improved soph and junior year, upward trend (no more C’s sophomore year, all A’s junior year)
Extracurriculars: volunteered at aquarium, Legal Careers pathway classes at school, 2-week medical business internship, Culture Club 4 years, online peer essay review, volunteered at library
Other: Asian, large fairly competitive school, homeschooled up until 8th grade, synesthete with 3+ types of synesthesia, planning to become bilingual (taught myself a year of spanish over the summer and jumped from lvl 1 to 3)
Grateful I got in, good luck to all y’all but still nervous about the UC’s. This is a stressful time so take everything with a grain of salt and don’t succumb to senioritis like me -_- but don’t forget to have fun and watch The Office or something.
Hi, I applied to SDSU in october for nursing and I was curious if someone could tell me if I have good odds or not. Also if anyone knows if the first wave of nursing acceptances has been sent out. (I have not gotten one). I am in state with a 4.3 gpa on the csu application. I took a lot of ap classes, some relevant ones might be ap bio, ap physics, ap environmental science, ap calculus, ap statistics, and I took psychology and medical terminology at a local college. I am so stressed as this is my top choice school…
You have a competitive GPA and no Nursing admits have been posted. Usually Nursing admits come out in March with the majority of the decisions. SDSU should be considered a Reach for all Nursing students but it looks like a reachable Reach. Best of luck.
Thank you! I have another question… do you happen to know if they look at ap scores? I realize now that I probably should not have put my scores on there as I did not pass two of them. I got 2s on the calc and physics tests. I got a 3 on bio (kinda bummed about that, I was expecting a 4), and a 4 for APush.
@Jesssica2003: SDSU will look at your AP classes for HS course rigor. AP scores are only considered for college credit so anything under 3 will not be given credit and will not affect your admission chances.
oh thank goodness, calc and physics were just terrible for me… good thing I don’t need to take those as a nurse. Thank you for all of your help, it is I
ncredible how quickly you reply.
Does anyone think some admission decisions will begin tomorrow?
hopefully, I was reading forums from last year and it appeared that a lot of decisions came out on the 2nd and 3rd of march, and then stopped a little and then more came out on the 8th
