^ That’s true. Hey @neneman54, did you take the dumb-a** speech class at your community college? It is required for CSU’s but not for UC’s…

i got denied with a 3.72 for econ… if you call them and ask why do they actually give you a good reason why you got denied?

^ I don’t know, but it’s worth a shot. People who got denied if you want to post all your stats, we might be able to spot why you were denied. Like this:

Major?
Major GPA
overall GPA
major pre-requ’s completed yes or no
CSU Breadth or IGETC?
Where do you live?
What is your community college?

major: econ
major gpa: 3.67
igetc completed by spring… i think i possibly got denied because i was missing two accounting classes but the accounting classes i needed didn’t articulate with what they offered at my school.

@neneman54 Goodluck. There has been inconsistencies. I believe I read somewhere on SLO’s board of someone who got rejected from SLO but accepted to Michigan. Wow right?

@ernestobb25 that may be the reason. I imagine with the number of applications they get, everything has to be perfect, no matter the reason, or it gets rejected. If you really want to go there I suggest you appeal it with the information that the classes weren’t available…

accepted
premajor = public administration city planning
total CC classes taken 30, total csu units, 95 semester units
gpa 3.137
completed AA degree in communication spring 2011
igetc, norcal. i’ve had to commute around SJ to take classes not offered @gavilan college.

first generation, low income, minority, male

side note/ i want to switch into the statistics major so i have a lot of math [multi variable calc] that your typical public administration major wouldnt have. i’m calling the admissions and records office today to find out if the transition into a new major will be fine.

most math majors tend to not be popular so i hope it’s not a big deal.

I thought on their transfer page it said that transfer students wouldn’t be able to change their major once they got in…

Don’t know what happened.

Denied admission
Major: English
California Community College GPA: 3.91
AA-English Completed in Fall 2012

I’ve gotten in to San Jose State already. I got into SDSU straight out of high school, but not good enough now, it seems (even with my “good” GPA).

Accepted March 1
Mathematics major-B.S.
gpa: 3.44 uw 3.87 w
2 ap tests passed, taking calc ab and english lit this year
few college courses
sat: 1070 cr+math

Is anyone that has been denied admission going to appeal?

@zomgrad why did you leave SDSU?

@smurray09 I meant to say that I was admitted when I applied in high school, but I ended up not going because I wasn’t ready to leave home. I went to CC instead.

I don’t think I’m gonna appeal this because I’m gonna be accepted (knock on wood) to UC San Diego based on TAG.

@zomgrad maybe they only accept people with below a 3.5 gpa? I’m being sarcastic. That makes no sense to me. It’s actually insane. There are people on here with a 3.2 GPA that got accepted. Curious: Are you in San Diego County, but outside of the “local” zone for SDSU? Did you do IGETC? Did you have the Speech class requirement and the American Institutions Requirement?

Most majors are impacted at SDSU. Business and engineering are the most impacted. Even a mathematics major is impacted. This is a list of impacted majors:
[Welcome to the Office of Advising and Evaluations](<a href=“Welcome | Office of the Registrar | SDSU”>Welcome | Office of the Registrar | SDSU)

Also, the crises with California education budgets is affecting UC’s and CSU’s.

Anybody got a decision as a soc major yet?!?

The longer I wait, the more I believe I got rejected…

I know right^^^^^ that’s what I’m waiting for. Good to know others are waiting with me.

I think the reason I got accepted was because within SD county, if CSU San Marcos doesn’t have your major you are automatically accepted to SDSU, which is lucky for me because I’m sick of this area. Also-- if your CC does not have the class articulated on assist.org they expect you to get those classes regardless. The reason why I have a low gpa (3.2) is because of Math unfortunately-- but all other classes I had received A’s.

^^Good to know there are others also waiting wit a soc major!
this wait is killing me

You live in San Marcos? How is it? I lived in Oceanside for a short time…
