*SDSU Fall 2013 Transfer Student Official Decisions Thread*

@sergioiou, can you clarify your question? The AA-T and AS-T degrees are awarded by the CCC.

General update. I called SDSU admissions to ask them about my application status. They told me that they are still processing application and should have the decisions made by next Friday, 3/22. So we have to be patient :)

@jmonroe I received an email from SDSU asking for my CC to verify that I did complete the requirements for the AS-T degree. I had to call my CC and have them verify it with SDSU and I was having trouble with thtat. It’s all cleared up now.

@sergioiou, that makes sense because they don’t (I’m assuming) have your transcripts yet. So they needed to verify that you had the major preparation courses for your major that met the AA-T curriculum.

I have another question, if you don’t mind. Does your CC offer your major in an AA-T degree now? Or just an AA and SDSU was checking that it met AA-T requirements?

@jmonroe My CC does offer an AS-T degree for my major. I completed the requirements for it in fall 2012. I’m guessing they just want to make sure that you really will complete the AA-T/AS-T by spring 2013 if you haven’t already done so.

sergioiou, that clears it up. Good for you, you’ll get accepted because they are giving those AS-T’s priority. :)

In my case, my CC didnt get their AA-T approved in time for this year. I have all the major requirements. I’m concerned that since my AA won’t have the “AA-T” designation, I’ll fall through the cracks. Because without an AS-T or AA-T, SDSU says there is no TAG guarantee.

I’m going to appeal. SDSU is my first choice solely for their abroad program for communication majors. I have a 2.9 GPA…I know that’s low, but I’ve received 4.0’s my last two semesters. My freshman year, my parents got divorced and I was forced to work and help them out finanically-which resulted in a year full of C’s. Anyway, I’m above the requirements for my major, completed all prereqs, and have the aa-t degree (which allowed priority enrollment)…Still, denied.

@dannydevv, I wish you luck on your appeal. I may have to do some appealing myself, I still am on pending status.

I hate to be a Debbie downer, but I feel the GPA is what sank you. The average GPA at SDSU 2012 was around 3.78 from high school applicants, 3.28 from CC transfers in 2011. Those stats are expected to be higher for 2013 applicant pool.

“Transfer associate (AA/AS-T) degree applicants are guaranteed priority admission over all other transfer students when applying to a local or non impacted campus…”

Two key words… local (are you in the SDSU local area in San Diego County?) and “non impacted”… all of SDSU departments are impacted.

@dannydevv my best friend got in with a 2.9, but she’s in the local area…

@dannydevv, you were accepted to OSU? Are you in the San Diego area? It seems that acceptance in inconsistant. Other have not posted recently, so I wonder if they were finally accepted.

^ I haven’t heard yet, I’m still pending. I think no one posted anymore because no one had anything to say, lol. I keep checking like 5 times a day, though, and nothing ever changes :(

So I got an email overnight saying my application was incomplete. Then I signed on and every document is listed as “received”. They don’t open until 9, so I have to wait another hour to call. Anyone else got this or anything new from them? I’m freaking out a little bit.

SBVett, I would consider getting an email from them a positive. My status still shows pending and I have not received any messages. Open house is on Saturday. :-/

It was just one of those automated emails. I got about 5 of them before my transcripts got there, I just worried because now there really is nothing missing on my application. Anyway, I called them today and they said my application is still being reviewed, but didn’t say anything about when decisions will be done. So I guess we should just keep waiting? If this goes into April still pending I will be worried. Either way, going to the open house on Saturday might still be a good idea… I’m thinking about going anyway.

SBVett, are you a 2-year transfer? I was not asked for transcripts. Just the final submission in January and then they get spring transcripts in June. The only thing that shows up under my “Required” section is a question about student housing. Which I selected “no” but still shows up…

Did you RSVP for the SDSU Open House this Saturday? If not, here’s the link:

No, my situation is more complicated… I went to college overseas for 2 years, and have been going to a CCC for 3 semesters. I was exempt from the supplemental app in January because they wanted all my transcripts right away (because of the foreign coursework), which is why I got that email saying my application was incomplete so many times.
I also have that same housing question. It’s probably there for everyone
Thanks for the link! I’ll rsvp if I decide to go.
And you should consider not getting an email from them a positive sign! It’s still bothering me that I got it. It can’t be good if their system shows I’m missing something. :/

I’m in the same boat as SBVett. I moved from Canada a year ago so they asked for all my transcripts, as well. Didn’t fill out a supplemental app. But I called the office today and they told me my file is currently being reviewed and they’ll have decisions posted by the end of next week at the latest. Hopefully it’ll be sooner than that though. I’ve become extremely impatient, hahah.

By the end of next week? :frowning:
It feels like they keep pushing it to “the end of next week”. Someone posted the same thing here last week.
@jmathews, I’m extremely impatient too. I thought I was gonna have a decision in EARLY March! Maybe they meant April?

im still pending… this is so frustrating…
I have an AS-T and an AS, all my pre-req’s completed, the CSU breadth completed, honors and distinction, a 3.6 GPA, and am from Imperial Valley College which I think is still considered “local”, I sent my transcripts in January, and my CC counselor verified my degree early March… ( I’m a Criminal Justice major)

what more do they want from me!!!
I’m so over this waiting!!! its driving me crazy… :(

Let’s hope we hear next week. Because SDSU Spring Break begins Mon, Apr 1.
