SDSU pre-major?

I initially applied to SDSU along with a couple of other state schools to have some sort of backup, in case UC does not work out, but a lot has happened in the past 3 months (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/california-state-university-general/1855833-is-csusm-a-good-school-for-cs.html), and I now view SDSU as one of the feasible options. I noticed however that on my application it states “Pre-Computer Science”. I know for sure that I applied for regular Computer Science. What the heck is “pre-computer science” and how do i turn it into “computer science”?

P.S: At the time of application I had 60+ units, most major prep completed, 3.77 GPA and 1 of the golden four in progress (the rest 3 completed).

@lenocturne - All incoming SDSU students are admitted as “pre-majors.” Basically, you keep that status until you complete all of SDSU’s prerequisites for the major. From SDSU’s general catalog (Page 19): “Impacted Programs - The CSU designates programs as impacted when more applications from regularly eligible applicants are received in the initial filing period (October and November) than can be accommodated. All majors at San Diego State University are impacted. Students who are admitted to SDSU are placed in a premajor (including undeclared). All premajors must meet department-specific criteria to move from the premajor to the major, such as a specified minimum grade point average, completion of prerequisite courses, tests, and completion of a certain number of units.” For complete details, here’s a link to this year’s general catalog - http://arweb.sdsu.edu/es/catalog/2015-16/2015-16GeneralCatalog.pdf

@Fish125 Thank you!
