I was wondering if someone could give me a breakdown of the different housing options. For example, if it a double or triple, a communal bathroom or no, and so on. Along with this, should I bring my car down to SD or use a bike? In other words, do many people ride bikes at SDSU? My last question for now is how will I decide a roommate? Are there any instagram group chats similar to what UCSB has or a thread on here? Thank you!
The housing link pretty much explains the housing options which includes a description of the types of beds: Single, Double, Triple and if they have communal bathrooms.

Here is an example:
Chapultepec
Building Breakdown
Nickname: Chappy

Room Style: Double and triple occupancy rooms with communual bathrooms
Bed Size: Twin XL
Closest Parking: P12 (with SDSU permit)

You can bring your car but parking is not guaranteed near all the dorms and the parking permit costs are $271 per semester. The SDSU campus is a bit hilly, so a bike is not that practical.
If you know someone attending SDSU, you can select that individual when you sign up for housing. You need their SDSU ID. You could try Room surf for roommates.
Hopefully someone to chime in about the group chats.
@lifeistuff When you apply for housing, you are asked to rate your 1st-3rd choice for room occupancy (single, double, etc). Other than that, you do not get to choose what dorm you’re placed in. There is a SDSU FB page you can join to try to meet people for possible roommates. If you choose one, I think he/she must have listed their preferences the same as you did. My daughter brought a bike last year, and never unlocked it…never used it! Good luck to you!!!
There’s an SDSU class of 2023 page on FB my son joined. I’m not able to add the link but he’s already “met” quite a few people.
It was just announced that Freshman will not be allowed to bring cars starting Fall/2019. Ridiculous!
