I applied to both San Diego State University and California State University-Long Beach and I got accepted into both. I applied for chemistry. I want to become a pharmacist, so I need to take the PCAT and apply to pharmacy school after I get my bachelor's degree. I need a backup school just in case I cannot get into a UC school or a private school (I highly doubt this will happen). So which is better-SDSU or CSULB?

Both are good schools - SDSU is the ‘better’ of the 2

I graduated from SDSU for undergrad (~ 25 year ago now) and I’ve lived right near CSULB for the last 17+ years now. Both are good schools, but I’d prefer a degree from SDSU. Not sure if it matters, but LB is much more of a commuter school (as are many of the CSU schools).

Also, if you have any desire to ever live in San Diego (after you graduate) then SDSU for sure.
