I got accepted into both long beach state and sdsu, and am on the wait list for usd. i am a communications/journalism major with a minor in photography/photojournalism (that general sort of major/minor combo). Which school would be the best for that major? I like sdsu but im worried its too big of a school, and im not sure about long beach because it is such a commuter school and more "inner city". i want a more college-ey feel, and being a surfer, the closer to the beach the better. also, between csulb and sdsu which is more impacted in my major? i don't want a 6 year school.
HELP!

SDSU!! better social atmosphere and not as much of a commuter school

I would say SDSU. It definitely has that college feeling; lots a spirit, easy to get involved, people are cool… Plus, our sports are getting waaaaay better and so much fun to watch. Surfing here in San Diego is awesome too and you’d only be about 20 minutes from the beach living on campus.

As far as your major, I think SDSU has a pretty decent program. And I have a friend who’s a comm major and I don’t think he said it’s impacted. But even if it were, being impacted at state, at least as a business major, means having a 2.9 GPA to enter the program. SDSU is definitely a better academic school in general compared to CSULB anyways.

I agree SDSU would be your best option. See the thread below asking about csulb and sdsu
