My son was admitted to SDSU and encouraged to apply for the WHC back in December. At the time, he didn’t apply, but has since changed his mind. The Website specifies that they occasionally accept applicants if they apply before March 30th. Does anyone know of anyone who missed the original deadline and then was accepted after the fact?
He is regretting not applying earlier, but feels like there is nothing to lose by applying now, but isn’t expecting admission.
Thanks in advance.
Not directly relevant to your question, my son applied WHC by the Jan 15th. deadline, but was notified in late Feb. that his Weber decision would be postponed pending review of his SDSU admission decision (he hadn’t been admitted at that point).
He was subsequently admitted to SDSU in early March, and then just yesterday (19 March) was admitted to WHC. So I guess my advice would be to go ahead and apply since they are clearly still reviewing applications. Best of luck to your son!
@Mauifletch I just put the following reply on another related thread. Anecdotally, I would say if your son commits to SDSU, it might increase his chances for WHC. My son was invited to apply to WHC in Dec, but didn’t apply until about two weeks ago, before the second deadline. He heard nothing for two weeks. On Saturday my son confirmed his acceptance to SDSU and today (Monday) he was accepted into WHC. His stats we’re SAT 1370 and 3.975 weighted GPA. Major: Computer Science.
