So I'm seriously considering attending Seattle University, because they gave me a schoarship and good FA. I went to a meeting and everything and it all sounded very nice, but I was just wondering if anyone, particularly in the PNW, has any other perspectives on the school. It's not very well-known around here, so any info would be appreciated. :)

Thanks so much!

Has a good local reputation. Lots of Internationals--mostly Asians. On a big self-improvment campaign.

Have you visited? Definitely visit!!!!!!

Here's my opinion on Seattle U, just from living in Seattle. I really don't know anything about the school...

but about it's location: it is on Capitol Hill. Capitol Hill is.. unique. There's a large lesbian/gay population, lots of homeless people, etc. It is really in the city.

The Seattle U campus is giant red brick buildings everywhere. Not that big. Not enough grass for my taste.

The PNW is awesome, but are you okay with gray days for all of winter?

My friend went to SU for a year, hated it, and transferred.

She said that the school seemed kind of overshadowed by UW and that there wasn't much campus spirit. She also hated the weather.

There is some cool architecture on campus though.

My son has three friends there who really like it. Two are girls (one was his summer girlfriend) and one is gay. The kids seem to be really into community service and the whole Jesuit ethic. Weather in Seattle is not great during the winter. Very dreary. However, it's very green and skiing is close by.

My friend goes there and loves it. You literally step off of campus and you're in the city (which is apparently very tree-y and beautiful). We're from Southern California and surprisingly he likes the weather; it rains alot, but it's not too crazy if you don't mind cold weather.
