I am really interested in Yale!...as well as UChicago, Cornell, and UMich...
and the applied sciences, as well as being involved with theatre and speech at the collegiate level.
THANKS!

ur in everywhere and probably could get lots of merit $$ from Chicago!

should be in at umich and uchic. Good chances at cornell and yale but definitely no gaurantee

UMich: safe match to safety
Chicago: match
Yale: good chance

Thanks for the replies. By the way, skp21, do you know much about the merit scholarships from UChicago? I read on the UC website that 20 scholarship winners have tuition waived, while 80 others get certain other sums of money. Do you have any idea how much?; the website wasn't very clear.

Hmmm hmmm hmmm.... I believe there was some discussion about it on the Chicago boards a while ago. Do a search for it and see what comes up.

And you do seem like a really strong applicant for the schools you are applying to. Considering that you come from a weak school and you were still able to come out with a 2400 is impressive. But as you know, it's no guarantee.

Make sure that you put the time into writing clever, thoughtful application essays for all of your schools, especially Chicago. My feeling is that the school is going to be receiving more and more applications as it USNWR rank rises, so you want to make sure that the admissions officers know that you're serious about attending the school and that you're not just applying for the sake of applying.

accept

(harvard accepts 75% of 2400s. since you are also val with several leadership, you're in everywhere)

I appreciate your confidence, firefox, but I think your evaluation is a little (hopefully just "a little") extreme. After all, Yale and Harvard are completely different schools. In addition, I don't think that statistic is right -- the New York Times reported that more than 50% of SAT perfect scorers were rejected at Harvard. Thanks, though -- I certainly feel better!

um... just wondering but y can't u "reveal" your fairly unique summer activity? Can u PM it to me

lobgent, perhaps you should take a quick peek of my other chances posts? i never euphemize (you appreciate my confidence? oh right), as i don't care for the typical CCer's overinflated ego and only present the reality. new york times perhaps reported that more than 50% of SAT perfect scorers in 2002 (as in, out of 1600), were rejected, but if you do just a tiny bit of research (google) you'll see that what i say is correct

not even flawless SAT scores can open doors at Harvard, which rejects one in four applicants with a perfect 2400.

but of course, if i have overestimated your ability to listen to others, then i apologize. you'll be rejected everywhere

you're a very competitive applicant. you have a good chance of getting in at all the schools you listed. no guarantee though.

I'm not going to argue, firefox. Again, I genuinely appreciate your evaluation; take from that what you will.

what a gentleman

I'd definitely say you're in everywhere including Yale.

gj in hs =]

llpitch, thanks. Firefox, oh gee, thanks.

i think that you have absolutely no chance at any of those schools, except UMICH since your in state. just kidding, write good essays to distinguish yourself and u have a better than average chance at every one of them.

Valedictorian, perfect SAT, good EC's = accepted everywhere imho.

That's just assuming he doesn't doodle all over his essays =]

Well, I was actually considering doing a postmodern drawing of my toenail for one of my essays. Do you think that'll be unique enough?

JUST kidding.

seems like a good shot, but those ivies (especially the big three) are always wild cards.

For sure. That's why the purpose of such threads is always debatable. But while it exists, evaluate on!
