Second semester senior grades

Has anyone ever heard of a college revoking the admission letter if the student got all C's, maybe a D? For a college with the status of NYU, BU.

yep........

A C average will get you rescinded.

don't fall more than 1 point below your GPA when you applied

It depends where you were before. A B student could safely drop to all C's, but an A student couldn't. An A student could get one or two C's, but the rest would have to be at least B's.

Rescinded acceptances are very rare, and what I am suggesting is erring on the safe side. You could probably push it farther, but there is little reason to do so.

It really depends on the institution--as an Admissions Counselor, I usually tell students as long as they don't totally "fall off the wagon," they should be okay. But that is also assuming that the student is continuing to take good, college-prep classes and hasn't fallen into "senior slide."

We definitely look at the final grades of our admitted students and reserve the right (as stated in our admission letter) to rescind admission if a student doesn't continue the performance they applied with...

yes. if you dropped from a letter grade or 2 above. don't get a D!
