If I got mostly As and a few A-s (my school does not offer A+s) throughout my high school career, what is a safe range to be in so I don't get a warning or something (or worse, rescinded). Anecdotal or specific information on this would be helpful. I actually haven't been accepted to any of my top choices yet, because I applied to all of them RD, but provided I get into at least one, this advice should be helpful :) .

Are a mix of As and Bs still OK? (I may end up still getting mostly As and A-s, I just want more of a feeling of security).

Dartmouth is particularly lax about this. They really, really don’t want to rescind people because it’s a huge pain to do so. One of my friends here ended up with two Ds at the end of his senior year. Instead of rescinding him, Dartmouth just made him write a letter explaining his grades. Had he refused to write the letter, he would’ve entered the College on academic probation.

Neither scenario involved rescission of his admission…

So, have fun, screw around a bit, and let go. You’ll have to get serious in the classroom again when you step in a Dartmouth class.

Yea I got As and A-s (mostly As) on my midyear report (w/ 1 B+ in calc bc (no one ever gets an A in that class)), which is fine considering I am taking 5 APs an 1 honors class this year at a highly challenging high school.
