Wonder Woman was, well, simply wonderful. Crowded show, but as we left, we were all pleased. It has been a while since there was a good DC Superhero movie.
We saw Wonder Woman today and thought it was great!
We also saw Wonder Woman today. I really liked Robin Wright’s role in it also.
I saw Rogue One for the first time yesterday (late to the party, I know). I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would… The first part of the movie was a bit slow and confusing, but once they mentioned Galen and Jyn’s purpose, everything clicked into place quite nicely.
Going to see Wonder Woman today–loved the previews that we saw when watching other movies. It looks like some nice escapism.
I also saw Wonder Woman today and absolutely loved it, especially the first part. The casting of Gal Gadot was inspired. I will be seeing the movie again.
I saw previews for movies involving Cars, Optimus Prime, Spider-Man, Justice League, and Star Wars The Last Jedi.
Watching Moonlight on Amazon Prime
I came across the new Michael Jackson biopic “Return to Neverland” on Lifetime TV this last weekend and it was surprisingly good. It was about the last two years of his life as told by his two security guards who became some of his only friends (but had been reassigned in the weeks before he died.) Michael was played by a guy who has made a career about of impersonating him and was his double while he was alive. In the movie, MJ wasn’t freaky or wacko.
As expected we really enjoyed Wonder Woman. They were showing it very hour and most of the seats in the theater (70-80%) were full.
I saw the new The Mummy last night starring Tom Cruise. It was too scary for my tastes.
Has anyone seen the new Alien? Is it too scary for your tastes?
@Ynotgo - My D and I saw the Alien Covenant movie 2 weeks ago. We both liked it. It was a little bloody but not super scary. The next day we binge watched Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection (?). She was too young to see those movies (actually wasn’t even born before a few of them…).
We saw Guardians. Yes, stupid but fun, especially if you have seen the first one. It made me LOL. Perfect for summer. DS has seen GoftheG twice and WW twice, with different friends, as his leaving home for college activity.
This is a bit old. I liked Mancester by the sea.
Finally watched Manchester by the Sea on Memorial Day and found it very sad & depressing. The acting was good and it was well made, but I don’t know that I would recommend it. Too much IRL is sad right now and, personally, I need my movies to be more uplifting.
Yes, it’s a sad story but I wouldn’t say it isn’t uplifting. After all that, he was bonding with his nephew and he didn’t run away from his duty. To me, the storylinene was depressing but the movie was hopeful. It ended on a positive note. I wouldn’t call that depressing.
I personally like happy and light and fun for movies. I’ve always trended that way and now more than ever, that’s what I prefer. WW was fun, even tho it was dealing with war.
I guess comics are back with a vengeance because many of us want strong and happy to help us endure some tough times.
I’m not surprised that others appreciate the movie, it just wasn’t what I’m looking for in a movie right now. You are right, @Iglooo that it ended on a hopeful note, but I’m just reacting from a current need to escape and/or laugh more than cry.
I saw Paris Can Wait last night. Don’t go see it BEFORE you eat dinner.
