Selecting a College

Hello! I am an upcoming freshman, and I am very indecisive about which college to attend. I was accepted to 12/13 schools, but I have narrowed it down to a few: UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, UC Davis, UC Riverside, and CSU Fullerton. I am looking for a school that has good programs in both Communication and English (the only schools that offer both out of this list are Santa Barbara and Davis. San Diego has an English Literature with Writing Option, but I am not too sure about it.) For anyone who attends these schools or is also an English or Communication major, what are your thoughts? I am looking for an environment that is welcoming (which all schools hopefully will be) and provides a lot of stuff to do either on campus or around. For San Diego, I was accepted into Revelle College. If I am incorrect about which schools offer both Communications and English, please feel free to correct me. Also, for those who are currently students at these schools, can you please tell me about your school’s diversity, social activities, clubs, or anything that you feel is important about for new students to know about your school? Also, about my future plans, I hope to be an English teacher or a Public Relations Manager (depending on what I want to pursue). Thank you so much! Enjoy your day, and please know that I value your honesty in responses.

DO you have to take out loans for any of these?

Yes, all of them. I’m still waiting on a few financial aid packages, but regardless, my parents are okay with paying and stuff.

I would not advise taking on a bunch of debt to be an English teacher. Are you in-state?

Yes, I am in-state.
