-Does it matter if classes are right after each other? wouldnt you be late for the next class if it begins when the previous one ends?

-and on the mock course choice ive got a total of about 16 hours of classes a week.....which seems like little, well at least compared to highschool....what do people already in college think of this?

-does anyone know what courses count as 0.5 credits?

Also professors understand if you have back-to-back classes.

In the United States, the typical college course load is fifteen credits per semester, which is five courses and in Penn’s case five course units. First semester freshman year, the typical load for the CAS is 4 c.u., which would be 12 hours of class a week. Intro language courses are either 4 or 5 hours a week, so that’s going to add to the total, as will lab science courses and math courses.

Classes are typically three hours per week – either one hour MWF or an hour and a half TR.

Labs for science courses, half semester Wharton courses, and some special topics CIS courses are 0.5 credits. Unless you are a science major or engineering major you should have either 4.0 or 5.0 cus.

argh! every time i try to complete the questionnaire, the page tells me i am “not authorized” to view it. did anyone else have this problem? i was just taken off the waitlist a few weeks ago, so stuff is kind of backed up for me…

Log into Penn Portal and see if it lists your advisor there. I don’t know when they update it for freshmen, but it might be listed there now.

Try to register on Penn In Touch. If it will let you, go for it. I think only college students have to jump through hoops to register for courses first semester. If you’re in SEAS your schedule is pretty set anyway: Math, Chem, Physics, Engineering.
