Hi,
I recently submitted my SSA and had a couple of questions regarding some mistakes and how they may affect my chances at obtaining a scholarship. For one, I did not indicate an intended major on my admissions application, so it appeared as Exploratory, College of Arts and Sciences on my SSA. Furthermore, I did not specify any academic interests in the following section. I don't know what I was thinking, and I really regret it now because I do have a strong interest in the biological sciences (biology, biochemistry, neuroscience) and could have easily filled out this section accordingly. What are your thoughts on how much this could affect my chances at obtaining a scholarship? And do you think I could email admissions asking for a chance to change my intended major and indicate academic interests?

Another question I had was about the importance of topic selection on the analytic essay. I am very focused on pursuing pre-medicine, but for my essay topic I picked single-sex public schools. I did it because I thought the topic was engaging and interesting, but am becoming more paranoid at this selection because it is not related to my field of interest and turned out to be pretty opinionated. It does contain citations and evidence, but will this topic's lack of correlation with my academic path deter my chances?

I would appreciate any input.
