So I self reported my SAT and AP scores on the common app. I was just wondering how would colleges know that I am not lying (which i am definitely not) about my scores? Do they need for us to mail in the official score reports to know that students' self reported scores are true? If they do, then I may be out of luck, because I am applying to many colleges and will have to pay a lot of money for all of those score reports...... Do the AP and SAT scores show up on my transcript or can my school report them, so I won't have to buy the official score reports? Thanks

U have to send them through college board via the score report service. They dont look at the self report on the common app

i have to spend over 200 dollars to report them to the colleges ill be applying to. that is a lot of money.

I know. It sucks. Ive estimated about $1500 for applying, sending scores, and taking the SAT and subject tests. Try to see if ur applicable for a fee waiver

Man, I can’t believe you can spend $1500 unless you are counting like private tutoring for the SAT or something.

A quick estimate of what it all should cost a reasonable high school student.

10 applications - $50 ea x 10 = $500
Report SAT scores (say you take it twice) $11 ea x 10 = $110
SAT Fees for three testing sessions total = $50 x 3 = $150

Total is $760 not even counting 4 free score reports, so it really would be closer to $700. Still a ton, but half of your estimate.

The only way for it to cost $1500 if you are going to apply to 25 schools or so…then you deserve to pay that much XD

^bro, im int’l i have to pay $120 for ONE SAT test. Put $70 in for college apps. $1500 is a little extreme. I’d put it at $1200.

Some schools are charging $65 to apply. Also if you are sending ACT scores you can send only one at a time. So if you have multiple ACT scores that is $11 for each score. In addition my HS charges for each transcript. Still dont think it will be that much but it is still a lot of money. Students at my high school pay between $3500-$4000 for SAT classes …company has very high record of students getting 2400 on SAT.

Has anyone else had trouble reporting ACT scores from June or December 2012? (It won’t give 2012 as a year option when self reporting scores).

Also some schools understand that hardships so they allow students to submit their test reports along with transcripts signed by a counselor.Do you have such schools on your college list?
