Self-reporting on common application

Hey all,
So here's the situation: my ACT score is very high, while my SAT I score isn't as high. It is slightly below/around Yale's average SAT I score. However, I got really great scores on my SAT II scores.
I self-reported my SAT II scores on my common application but wasn't planning on sending in an official report since Yale doesn't do score choice and my SAT I scores aren't great. Do they require official scores? Do you think I should still self-report my scores or would I be better off without them?

Thanks

Why not tell us the scores so that we can have an opinion based on something better than “is it bigger than a breadbox?”

ACT: 35, SAT I: 2210 :/, SAT II both 800

If the ACT was with writing, you can just send that in. However, If it were me, I’d send in all the scores.

The Adcoms will, I believe, essentially super score for you. On 2 out of 3 testing mornings, you did better than the average Yale student. On 1 of 3 testing mornings, you did roughly as well as the average Yale student.

Nobody gets accepted to Yale on the basis of ACT or SAT scores. You will not be rejected on the basis of these. I would concentrate on the other parts of the application.

Good luck.

Ps I think that self-reporting the SAT II scores without officially reporting SAT scores would be regarded as breaking the spirit of Yale’s rules about reporting, if perhaps not the letter of the rule.

If you’ve already submitted the self-reported SAT II results, discuss it with your GC, but unless you are sending in the official SAT reports, IMO the best you can hope for is that they ignore the self-reported SAT II scores. The worst possible outcome is that they think you are playing with the rule, which might not go so well.

I agree with Ixnay: your 2210 won’t weigh you down. You did fine. I think showing your all scores will get what you need: no doubt you can handle the academic work. Then it goes to the other factors. I wouldn’t spend another second worrying about this. Focus on your essays, if you’re not already done.
