Self-studies: Music Theory Vs Human Geo

So I want to either self study Music Theory or Human Geo, for sure I cannot do both, because I simply do not have enough time.

Music Theory: I am a musician and have already done theory before, so I would be able to skip a lot of the content. I haven't done much harmony or sight singing, and the listening section might kill me. I have a prep book, and it's huge compared to human geo one. It would be very applicable, as I enjoy composition and once I master the listening it would help a lot in my playing. It might be too much work though.

Human Geo: I will be taking a geography class during the school year, although it is mainly physical geography. I hear this will be a lot less work and I've almost finish reading the barrons AP prep book for it. It seems very interesting and I want to go into psychology, so the social science aspect of it is very nice. Of course I'd be able to get a text book to study from. Definitely easier and less content as compared to AP music theory.

I'm also taking AP Psych and AP Stats in the school year.

I took AP Human Geography this year and not only did I find the class easy, but the exam also( got a 4). A lot of human geo is common knowledge, but other than that it is just memorizing vocab words and around 4 to 5 concepts/models of population and things like that. There is also some geography involved but it is limited; being familiar with the globe- as in all of it- is very useful. Music Theory I have no idea. I have a friend who is very bright and got 4’s on every ap test he has taken but got a 2 in music theory. If you don’t know music VERY well, I wouldn’t recommend taking it. You could self-study for the exam but it seems like there would be a lot of prior knowledge of the subject required. Just my two cents…

If you have a relatively good knowledge in world history, definitely take Human Geography. I took it last year as a freshman and got a 5. ^Like the above said, it’s a ton of memorization and linking concepts together. I could go on, but really…it’s pretty easy and with a little effort, you can score a 4 or 5.
