Hi, I live in Vancouver where most public schools don’t have a single AP class to offer.
Our school does have AP Calculus AB so I’m taking it next year in my junior yr.
But I’m gonna self-study BC and take the BC instead, since I’m a math person.
I self-studied AP Bio this yr and got a 5 without a problem.
I’m pretty good at pacing myself, so I want to self-study all the way…

SO, next(junior) year:

AP Psychology,
AP English Lang and Comp,
AP Calculus BC,
and AP Physics and/or Chem,
all self-studying.

Which should I take, Physics, Chem, or Both?

I’m probably majoring something biology-related, and perhaps going into the medical field.

Thanks for reading.

Hi, I live in Canada too and I’m planning to take IB bio next year.
I was wondering how you studied for it.
Did you take grade 11 and 12 bio before you did the exam?

Also do you plan on transfering all those AP credits in University.

Sorry I didnt really answer your questions :P

I’m a math person too, and I took AP Physics and AP Chem last year at my school. For me, chemistry was easier; I couldn’t grasp physics for some reason. That being said, I know quite a few people (who also took AP Physics and AP Chem) who had great scores in both classes (and they are also really really good in math). For Physics, you either get it or you don’t. See if you can find some resources that introduce the AP Physics material, and if you can get it, take it. For Chem, I say take it. I loved it.

AngelofDreams: No, I had absolutely NO background information on biology. I just came to Canada from Korea and took science 10 (which comes before bio 11 or 12). Nor did I have any knowledge on chem or physics aside from the basics. But I read through two AP books and they really helped. And I’m going back to Korea so I won’t be able to use the AP credits, but only show that I did that much during high school.

MWcollege12: I think we’re on the same page, I really don’t get physics sometimes. Too theoretical I guess. Chem is more practical and useful, so I’m definitely taking it.

Thanks for the replies guys :)
