Self-Studying AP Euro

I’m thinking of self-studying AP Euro. Should I buy a textbook or will just MEH and another prep book be good enough?

Depends on who you ask, I’m self-studying EH and all I’m using is MEH and REA Crash Course to AP EH. MEH covers each section as would an encyclopedia, like anything from a paragraph to a couple pages for topics. Crash Course is literally a giant outline simplifying that.

If you have some decent background knowledge, or are willing to like additionally read up on topics from stuff like Wikipedia or an actual encyclopedia or something, you should be fine with just MEH and a study guide.

Can someone recommend a good AP Euro TEXTBOOK - not particularly a book just to study for the test in the last month. I mean a textbook that is good and someone can use it to study (eventually take the test) for 2-3 months.

Wow? Self-studying?!! I commend you ALL. I don’t think I could handle that… :)

I’m liking Modern Europe by John Merriman readable and very easy to understand. It’s not huge either. Think Harry Potter book with thinner pages.

I like lots of information on topics, and using only one books, so I recommend “Western Heritage”.

Its a big book, but written in a readable manner.
I recommend reading around a chapter a week, and then quizzing yourself with the website they have that’s pretty handy.

[The Western Heritage, Ninth Edition](http://wps.prenhall.com/hss_kagan_westheritage_9_OA/)

Like a month before buy a review book with practice tests, read through it, and take a practice test.
Then just work on the parts you’ve done bad on.

The essays are the most annoying part.
Be ready to write tons of filler in case you don’t know much info. about the questions you get.
Good luck.

I’m self studying this year  I’m using Mckay and Palmer for textbooks… Plus I bought Princeton review’s Euro history book.
