Self studying for 5 exams?

Next year I will be taking 5 DE classes and want to take the 5 AP exam that are some what related to it.
I was planning to take
Dual enrollment class- AP exam

English 101- AP English Language
Environmental Biology or General Biology- AP Environmental Science or AP Biology
History if the US 1&2 OR Introduction to Comparative government- AP U.S. History or AP Comparative Government
General Psychology- AP Psychology
Statistics or Micro economics- AP Statistics or AP Microeconomics

I guess it would not be completely self studying but I think it would be somewhat self studying?
It would be around the same time as finals so it would be studying for both at once.
I would start prepping next summer to be sure, But Is this to extreme. Im kind of desperate.

My question is, why? It seems redundant.

@EllieMom I a lot pf people say that I should take AP classes because they are harder but my school does offer them. So I have to take those classes outside of school. But my mom said that she wont pay for any more AP classes online but she will let me take dual enrollment classes and the exams.

@cj5555 Isn’t it better to take the AP class at your high school for at least a couple of those classes? AP exams have weird and specific formats that need to be learned from an experienced teacher. Especially for AP Stats, Bio, and USH- the FRQ’s all require a unique approach and format.
For AP Micro you should be fine as it’s pretty straight forward. For AP Psych there is one simple rule for the FRQ’s (Define and apply every term given).

It seems doable but unnecessary if you are taking DE

Many colleges, esp privates, will not give credit for DE classes taken as a HS student. In that case, the AP exam might be the way to go. If your target colleges give credit for DE classes, then taking the AP test is just a waste of time and money.

Yes, but the OP stated that the HS does not offer them.

I don’t understand why you are “desperate”? Why do you feel you need all these AP exams?

Those AP tests will cost $465. Unless you expect to attend a college where you would get credit for them, but not for the DE classes, this is a lot of money, for what? Some of the colleges which won’t take dual enrollment credits might also just give you placement rather than credit for those APs. Check policies carefully. Also some exams aren’t that widely recognized (you would have to go through the lists for each college).

Thanks for the advice!
