Say I'm deferred EA Transfer or you guys are waitlisted RD - can your current progress in sem2 make the difference somehow?

Second Semester grades? I don't know about Transfer, but it seems like for RD the grades won't be final until after decisions would be made, I could be wrong though.

That's why I said if you were waitlisted RD...

ok this is a kinda general question but with waitlist how does that work. the decition happens after the May first deadline so does that mean you have to enroll in a college and then persue the waitlist?

Yeah, I know you said waitlisted, I just had/have no idea how late wait listed people were generally accepted, but I guess if they do still accept people after May/June, then I suppose sending them your second semester grades might be a helpful supplement, but I have no idea whether they will request them.

Wait list When you get a decision in the mail, youll either get a letter of rejection, a letter of admittance, or a letter offering a place on the waitlist. We think you know what the first two mean. If youre offered a spot on the wait list though, you need to either accept or reject it. If you want to still be considered for admission to Chicago, you should claim your spot on the wait list and start talking to your admissions counselor. Tell him or her how awesome you are, how much you love Chicago, and send in more credentials to prove your wonderfulness. The rates of acceptance of waitlisted candidates vary greatly from year to year.

Being wait-listed means the school has already determined you have the academic credentials; so nonacademic factors are more likely to sway admission officials.

This is no time to slack off. If you're wait-listed, you may be reevaluated based on your third- and fourth-quarter grades.

Colleges don't decide who will be admitted off the waiting list until the May 1 decision deadline has passed. Prepare to attend another school by filling out the paperwork and sending in a deposit. If you're accepted off the waiting list, you will forfeit your deposit at the first school and be required to submit a deposit to the second.
