I applied and was accepted into Northwestern's School of Communicatino as a senior in high school and was accepted, money was an issue though. I did not apply to Williams or Columbia. I realize the difficulty. Just looking to see if there is a point in applying.

Thanks to all who respond.

northwestern and williams you should have a very, very good shot at...just make sure your application is in order...write a really good essay and get good recs and youll be in great shape...columbia is a different ballgame...with its 2% xfer acceptance rate or some such, i dont see anything in your app that is mindblowing and it usually takes something of the sort to get into columbia...but youre a very strong applicant to the other schools

gl

I feel that. Definately won't be applying to Columbia anyway. I'm actually surprised you say I'm a strong applicant to Williams. I thought the difficulty getting into there as a transfer was about the same as Columbia. Regardless, thanks for that, much appreciated

perhaps i should clarify...i believe that you are a strong applicant to williams and have a better shot than you would at columbia...however just because you are a very strong applicant doesn't mean that you will get in...to take an extreme case, yale probably sees alot of very strong and well qualified applicants, but have to reject a very good portion of them because of their low acceptance rate...under the right circumstances you could definantly get into williams, but its never a sure thing with schools like williams

I understand for places like Williams, Columbia, etc. there are many, many well qualified applicants, I just wanted to know if I was "qualified" and you very helpfully answered.
