But the school is definitely Caltech! Not Cal Tech. ;-)
+

Yea lol, I had my buddy set it up and I haven't changed anything yet.

edit: fixed and the board is up!

A few cool things from the '09 forum:

Everybody was required/requested to use their real name as their username. This makes things a LOT easier for something like this, as everybody gets to know each other by their real names.
Also we had a "test" to see if you were an admit, basically you had to type in a specific word on the admission letter.

I would suggest implementing these things, but it's not totally necessary.

good ideas

I've got a "TomGwinn" account and I would like everyone registering to use their real names.

boomerlu, excellent ideas!

Could you change the registration page to tell people to use their real names? I see people posting under aliases already.
Also, is there some way you could distinguish between current Caltech students and prefrosh (with a subtitle under their names or something)? A lot of the current students have their location set to "Caltech" but some don't and it's a bit confusing, especially considering most of the people there are current students it seems.

Fixing the subtitles now. I'll try and do that registration page thing if I can figure out how. so tired.

Ok, everything is working out great over there. All Techers are invited to come join in the fun at http://caltech2010.houseofcheesecake.com
