See subject :)

Why should there be? Everyone posting here is in one of two groups: 1) Caltech 2010 hopefuls and their parents or 2) current students and alums. Since (2) is only here to answer (1)'s questions, it's pointless to add a new forum.

The caltech community is small/cool enough not to need a a separate forum for each class.

I think the OP is talking about a separate place outside of College Confidential where admitted students (and a few upperclassmen) talk about Caltech and other random things without being viewable to parents or random people on the Internet. Every year some motivated prefrosh in the incoming class sets up something like this. In many previous years people made Yahoo Group newsgroup type things, and last year Elizabeth Fong set up a forum on her website (see http://2009.caltech.edu/). It's getting late this year and nobody has done it.

Ohhh... hey that is pretty cool. :)

Actually, it usually gets set up over the summer. That's simply because you never get more than about a dozen people until you get the full class list and can email all of them to let them know about whatever medium you've chosen.

I assumed the OP was referring to the fact that other schools (MIT at least) have sub-forums for their different classes.

Last year Liz set up the forum in December...two years ago Ezra set it up in early April.

My friend and I have started a Caltech 2010 group on Myspace, for admits who want to get to know future classmates.
