Anyone else?

I felt a bit unsure about the exam in general, it was my first AP and the process was so rushed i didnt have time to double check anything on my info sheet and all of that stuff. I felt like i did adequately on the MP and the essays, though I was a bit insecure because of previous practice exams in which i felt overconfident on the essays and flunked them. I ended up doing pretty well, managed to get a 5 on it.

It was my first AP exam as well. I was nervous, so I invested a ridiculous amount of time into studying. My teacher gave our class old multiple choice sets everyday for a week, and we also got a huge packet of previous FRQ topics. That definitely helped a lot. Hence, I felt adequately prepared going in. The MC & DBQ were easy IMO, but the FRQs…not so much. Still, I got a 5 and that’s all that matters. Congratulations to you both!

I think the composite score for getting a 5 might have been lower than in previous years. According to me Euro teacher, the FRQ questions were unlike anything ever seen before on the AP exam (Analyze the various ways in which ____________ were pretty much all of them). Since most schools practice FRQ’s by modeling them after ones on old AP exams, I think the average FRQ score was probably lower than before.

Got the 5…I thought the FRQ’s this year were unusual too, since every other year seemed to have had either a Cold War FRQ or an FRQ about the Role of Women during a certain time period (e.g. renaissance, French Rev, Russian Rev, etc.) or two FRQ’s on these topics. This year had none: I was happy though, since I knew nothing on these topics. Left the test pretty confident that I had gotten it.

This is college confidential. 95% will get 5’s. And 5% will get 4’s. Then that 5% percent will cry about getting 4’s.

Sent from my Desire HD using CC

Nope! Getting a 4 and proud of it!

What prep books did you guys use? Taking the class next year and hoping for a 5.

I got a 4… my FRQs were not very good but I did somehow manage to pull out a lot of information about the two topics I chose, which I did not feel confident about at all, so hopefully that helped. The multiple choice section wasn’t terrible, but it definitely wasn’t easy.

I wish we could see a breakdown of how we did on the MC, the DBQs, and the FRQs.

Awflapjakz, I used AP Achiever ([Amazon.com: AP Achiever (Advanced Placement* Exam Preparation Guide) for European History (College Test Prep) (9780073256726): Chris Freiler: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Achiever-Advanced-Placement-Preparation-European/dp/0073256722)) for most of my studying because it was recommended by my teacher. She said that the questions they asked in the MC were the closest to the actual exam, and now after I’ve taken the AP exam and seen multiple prep book tests, I agree with her statement.

The book is a lot easier to read than a textbook it’s really well organized, so you can go around to the parts you need the most help on easily.

I agree with Awflapjakz…the AP Achiever by Mcgrawhill is the best prep book available. I read the whole thing from May 9-10 before the test, and got a 5 (and I think it was a “high” 5 too)…

So yeah, use the AP achiever book. The multiple choice were relatively easy in that book, but they were also relatively easy on the actual exam.

Okay, thanks for the help. (:

For what it’s worth, I got a 5 using the Princeton Review. I also had an incredible teacher though.

Daughter received a “5” but took the AICE Modern Euro class. Her high school dropped AP EURO because they did not have enough kids pass last year. It had been offered to Freshman along with Human Geo. If kids wanted to sit for the AP Euro exam, they had to self study the material that wasn’t covered in AICE ( 200 years before and anything past WW 1 + World War 2) and pay $90.00 to pay for the exam as well as the proctor. Seems no schools outside Florida even recognize much less know what AICE is and very few schools give any credit for AP Human.

I’m just wondering - does anyone know on approximately what day the scoring guidelines/sample responses for the DBQ/FRQs will be put out?
