Sending "all scores"

Is it true that the University of South Carolina requires that ALL SAT scores be sent when applying?

I am pretty sure I do remember my D having to send all of the scores last year. I don’t think they ask for all of them to penalize you though. They will use the highest scores for admission/scholarship purposes and I believe they do score choice (does not have to be in one sitting).

I was told by someone I know in admission that it’s for the students benefit, that if students do score choice with SAT- sometimes mistakes are made and best scores are not seen. By sending all, the computer can do the work of super scoring and just spit out top score for each section - they just look at CR + M.

Yep. I remember in my application getting really freaked out about possibly not sending in my ACT scores. (My SAT was better.) As part of the application (in 2010 mind you), there was a section where you had to specifically sign stating that you had sent in ALL scores.

But as others have pointed out, it’s for the student’s benefit. On my account on my.sc.edu, it lists only my highest math and highest writing SAT score as my test score for admission.

^^oops that’s what I meant…that admissions does the super scoring not the student.

Ok, then no worries I guess. My D is freaked about her ACT, in particular, the Reading subscore is a 20…and she would love to bury the whole experience… Math and English were 26 and 23… But her SATs are much better…1710/1110 on second try and retaking once more… She didn’t want to show her first SAT all, but I guess she has to…trusting the process and hoping her high GPA carries her through.
