Hey guys,
I plan to ED college of human ecology. (Policy and management with a minor in some kind of science) Here are my AP Scores, should I send all of them:
Sophomore: AP HUG: 4, AP Physics: 2, AP Computer Science 4
Junior: AP Calc AB: 4, AP Bio: 3, AP LANG: 4, APUSH: 4, AP Macro: 4, AP Micro: 4
I was thinking about not sending the physics score but wasn’t sure about bio. Thoughts?
I am taking 5 APs senior year.
Omitting any AP score will make the adcoms suspicious; I’d submit all of them tbh
Other info: I come from a pretty competitive high school. We have about 26 AP classes offered but majority of the students take 1-2. I live in Ohio and have a low gpa, high SAT. Hook with ECs (they all have to do with policy and management)
I would not submit physics.
I disagree. Omitting 1, or even 2, likely will not raise an eyebrow. Omitting more than that, particularly if your transcript lists the course as AP and/or states in its profile that all students in AP classes must take the AP exam, will cause questions.
I believe there have been statements by different schools that they don’t look at ap scores. I dont know what Cornell’s policy is. DD didn’t submit any scores and it made no difference whatsoever.
There have been CC comments, even insistence, that they don’t look at AP scores. That doesn’t make it so.
It’s fine to consider omitting physics, if it has no bearing on your major. But that does leave you with a string of 4 scores and a 3, you say a low GPA, and your ECs “all have to do with policy and management.” That’s not the picture Cornell is looking for.
